Cybersecurity and password service provider 1Password LLC today announced the launch of MCP Server for Trelica by 1Password in the new AI Agents and Tools category of the Amazon Web Services Inc. Marketplace.
MCP Server for Trelica is designed to help information technology organizations identify unmanaged apps, reduce artificial intelligence-related “shadow IT” and enforce identity-based access controls, while also allowing customers to deploy secure and compliant AI agents.
The offering is backed by more than 350 software-as-a-service app integrations to deliver essential capabilities, including centralized, read-only visibility into app usage, access permissions and policy drift. The features allow customers to reduce SaaS sprawl, block unauthorized agent access and ensure responsible AI adoption without disrupting existing identity and access management tools or authentication flows.
The inclusion of MCP Server for Trelica by 1Password in the AI Agents and Tools section of the AWS Marketplace will allow AWS customers to accelerate their procurement process to drive AI innovation, reducing the time needed for vendor evaluations and complex negotiations. 1Password says that with centralized purchasing using AWS accounts, customers maintain visibility and control over licensing, payments and access through AWS.
Available as a solution via AWS Marketplace and designed to integrate with AWS-native workflows, the MCP server supports Model Context Protocol for streamlined agent communication and real-time access intelligence. The offering provides SaaS visibility and access context without impacting identity providers, app configurations, or authentication flows, allowing customers to embed access governance into AI-driven workflows, ensuring AI agent-initiated actions are always auditable, compliant and secure.
Being in the “AWS Marketplace allows us to provide customers with a streamlined way to access our SaaS visibility and governance solution, helping them embed identity and access control into every agent, app and workflow from day one, said Nancy Wang, vice president of engineering at 1Password. “As AI agents become core to how work gets done, visibility and control are no longer optional.”
The new MCP server builds on technology 1Password gained when it acquired cybersecurity startup Trelica Ltd. in January.
1Password was previously in the news in April when it launched new agentic AI capabilities and enhanced features to its Extended Access Management platform. The releases were aimed at securing and governing both human and nonhuman access and, in doing so, ensuring protection as AI agents and unmanaged devices play an increasingly prominent role in today’s distributed work environments.
