Honor won hearts all around the globe with the launch of the Honor 200 series. And now, the company is setting up the stage for the launch of the Honor 300 series in the first week of December 2024. Amidst all this, the mid-level variant from the series, Honor 300, has appeared on Geekbench.
Honor already teased that the smartphone will be based on Android 15 OS with MagicOS 9.0 skin on top and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The latest leak suggests that the device will get an underclocked version of the processor. The Honor 300 Pro carries the model number AMP-AN00 as seen in the Geekbench listing. The smartphone scores 2141 in the single-core tests and 6,813 in the multi-core tests. The device will be shipped in three different color variants including Starlight Sand, Ink Rock Black, and Tea Kaji.
Honor 300 Pro leaked details
The chipset mentioned in the Geekbench listing is most probably an octa-core processor with one core offering 3.5GHz clock speed. Five other performance cores can be seen carrying a clock speed of 2.96GHz. They are accompanied by two efficiency cores clocked at 2.04GHz. Now, the clock speeds mentioned in the listing are slower than the original speed of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor.
A report by Gizmochina suggested that the clock speed changes in the phone are a result of its cooling system. In simple terms, Honor 300 Pro will be shipping with a basic cooling system due to which all the previous generation Qualcomm chips fail to reach maximum performance.
That being said, the device will get a lot more features to have a look at. Some of the best ones will be a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, 50MP primary shooter, 12GB RAM, 512GB internal storage, etc. All other details regarding the smartphone are still under the wraps. Expectations are that we will get to know all of that along with the pricing on December 2 at the launch.
