Prime Day Again? Yes, Amazon's Prime Day Is Coming Back This October

Black Friday is preeminent among shopping events — the big kahuna of sales, the top dog of deals. But you won’t have to wait all the way until November to score some epic deals, especially if you’re an Amazon Prime member. Amazon on Tuesday confirmed the dates for this year’s Prime Big Deal Days: Oct. 7 and 8. That’s about three weeks away, and there are already some early deals live now.

Amazon started Prime Day a decade ago in 2015. Since then, bargain hunters and savvy shoppers have looked forward to this annual event every summer, when this sale typically takes place. However, in recent years, Amazon has started to include additional sales throughout the year, such as Prime Deal Days in October and a Big Spring Sale, which took place earlier this year.

Hey, did you know?  Deals texts are free, easy and save you money.

If you’re not already a Prime member, make sure you know how to sign up for Amazon Prime to get the best of the Prime Deal Days sale. Even if you are already a member, you can score extra Prime perks you may not be aware of.

Speaking of perks, did you know your Prime membership can get you free food? Prime members who use their free Grubhub Plus membership can get a free McDonald’s 10-piece chicken McNuggets meal each day when you place an order of at least $20. This offer is available from now until Oct. 5. Just add your meal to your cart and the discount will be applied at checkout. Just make sure to order via the Amazon website, the app or the Grubhub app.

In early October, there will be tons of savings across the board, from tech products like headphones, TVs and tablets to home products like vacuums and smart home upgrades, plus lots more. We’re keeping our fingers on the pulse of the upcoming sale, and you can count on to keep you updated as new information is unveiled.

We’re updating this page with early price drops, so organized shoppers can get ahead of the crowd on top tech and home deals.

Previous Amazon Prime Day dates

Since Amazon launched its inaugural Prime Day sale way back in 2015, the company has (mostly) scheduled the event around the same time of year. In fact, outside of a couple of recent years when the dates were shifted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Amazon historically tends to kick off the main sale event somewhere within the middle two weeks of July.

Here are all of the previous Amazon Prime Day dates:

  • Prime Day 2015: July 15
  • Prime Day 2016: July 12
  • Prime Day 2017: July 11 to 12
  • Prime Day 2018: July 16 to 17
  • Prime Day 2019: July 15 to 16
  • Prime Day 2020: Oct. 13 to 14
  • Prime Day 2021: June 21 to 22
  • Prime Day 2022: July 12 to 13
  • Prime Early Access Sale 2022: Oct. 11 to 12
  • Prime Day 2023: July 11 to 12
  • Prime Big Deal Days 2023: Oct. 10 to 11
  • Prime Day 2024: July 16 to 17
  • Prime Big Deal Days 2024: Oct. 8 to 9
  • Prime Day 2025: July 8 to 11
  • Prime Big Deal Days 2025: Oct. 7 to 8

As you can see, Prime Day was pretty much locked into an early- to mid-July schedule for its first five years before uncertainty around the pandemic in 2020 caused the company to push the sale back to the fall of that year. Then in 2021, Amazon was quick to bring it forward in the calendar once again, kicking off the event in an uncharacteristic June slot.

For 2022, Amazon returned the event to its customary July spot, kicking off on July 12, though the October slot was used for the Prime Early Access Sale. This marked the first time the company had hosted two Prime Day-like sales in one year. Amazon followed that pattern for 2023 and 2024, with a July Prime Day proper followed by a second Prime Day of sorts in October with the company’s Prime Big Deal Days event. This year, it’s toward the beginning of the month.

In the meantime, we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for the new dates and the hottest deals so you don’t miss out.
