In 2025, Back to the future celebrated its 40th anniversary. And after four decades of nourishing and inspiring pop culture, Robert Zemeckis’ feature film will present itself to French fans in a whole new form. Did you know that there is a stage version of the story of Marty McFly and Doc Brown? In 2020, a Manchester theater hosted a musical Back to the futurewithout knowing that it would end up becoming a global phenomenon. The dazzling success of this reinvention eventually took the Delorean to the stages of the West End in London, then to those of Broadway in New York, before being exported to Sydney, Tokyo and on tour to other major cities around the world.
And for the very first time, this multi-award winning show (and notably distinguished by the Oliver Award for best musical in 2022) is finally coming to France. TF1 Spectacles and La Seine Musicale have just announced that 20 exclusive performances of Back to the future: the musical show will be performed at La Seine Musicale from September 23 to October 10, 2027.
Back to the future in musical comedy, what does it mean?
The show imagined by Bob Gale, co-creator of the trilogy with Robert Zemeckis, is renowned for its humor, its energy but also and above all its technical prowess. Even spectators less sensitive to musical comedies praise this show for its impressive staging which manages to bring this cinema classic to life. A trailer composed of extracts from the 2022 London version has also been shared to offer a glimpse of the production to fans who are still reluctant.

Note that, unlike certain musical comedies which are exported to us with a complete adaptation of the text and songs (like Cher Evan Hansen or Little Shop of Horrors to cite the most recent), Back to the future: the musical show will be played in the original English version, but will be accompanied by surtitling screens around the stage to facilitate understanding for non-bilingual spectators.

Tickets for the 20 performances of Back to the future: the musical show are already on sale at the La Seine Musicale ticket office. Here are the different prices by category (each category offers reduced prices – 28 years old and job seekers):
- Gold category: from €88.20 to €98
- Category 1: €70.20 to €78
- Category 2: €52.20 to €58
- Category 3: €34.20 to €38
