One of the main deciding factors whenever I’m buying a new e-reader is when the next Amazon sale is, as I know they will drop in price.
And that’s the case here. With Prime Day 2025 days away, Amazon has slashed the price of the latest Kindle Scribe by a significant amount.
The 16GB Kindle Scribe is now available for just $259.99, that’s a $140 price cut for Prime subscribers.

The 16GB Kindle Scribe has always commanded a premium, but with a generous $140 price cut, it’s now available for just $259.99. That’s a notable drop that certainly turns heads.

The Scribe – with its 10.2-inch, 300 ppi, glare-free screen – allows the latest Kindle Scribe to not only replicate the reading experience of Amazon’s other Kindles but also function as a notebook by allowing you to write on books and documents with the included Premium Pen.
It’s probably designed more as a tool of productivity than artistic creation (the maximum levels of pressure available are quite limited), but it can be handy for the odd bit of doodling when you feel like it.
On top of the Scribe itself, you’ve also got the Premium Pen in Metallic Jade, which has a built-in eraser and a shortcut button that allows you to flick between writing and highlighting.
Sure you can pick up more basic Kindles for quite a bit less, but here you do get more bang for your buck if you opt for the all-in-one e-reading and writing experience of the Kindle Scribe.
For sure, the Paperwhite is probably better value for money to those who have no interest in taking notes or writing directly onto books and documents. I’m just happy that deals for both devices have existed, and right now, it’s a hard buy to overlook.
