Amazon’s latest high-end colour screen-toting e-reader has only been out for a matter of weeks, yet it has already picked up a fairly drastic price reduction.
The latest Kindle Colorsoft is now down to just £184.99, from £239.99. This feels like a much fairer price for the device, which was priced a little too high for our liking when it launched. We felt the same about the Signature Edition that arrived late in 2024.

While many readers will have at least one Kindle in their possession, but for those who’ve yet to be tempted by the range, opting for this newer model over the traditional black and white kindle, would be a great investment.
Designed specifically to enhance the reading experience, the colour display not only brings book covers to life and all text contained within, but it also makes Colorsoft a great device to enjoy graphic novels and anything with a bit of extra oomph.
Even as someone who dabbles in a lot of reading via paperback books, I’ll admit that I much prefer getting through my daily quota via my Kindle, for a couple of key reasons.
The first is the adjustable warm light built into this specific model, which helps to dim the environment and reduce eye strain when I’m reading in the evening. The second is that the Colorsoft is incredibly lightweight, allowing you to hold it for long periods of time without any discomfort.

It goes without saying, but the battery life on offer here is also fantastic. There are instances where I’ve been able to read for weeks at a time off of a single charge, which means that you don’t have to constantly top up the power as you go about reading your latest literary obsession.
Because of its function-over-form approach, the Colorsoft is something of a steal right now for only £184.99, particularly when compared to the original price. If you want something even more affordable, it is still worth keeping in mind that Amazon’s entry-level Paperwhite model is still just under £135.
