The Chiefs are losing multiple wide receivers to free agency, and the group wasn’t extremely productive in 2024.
However, one of the league’s best pass catchers is now available in the trade market.
The Seattle Seahawks’ DK Metcalf requested a trade this week, and the team is expected to entertain in.
On the back of that, it seems that the Chiefs are interested in striking a deal for him.
According to Seahawks reporter Corbin Smith, Kansas City is monitoring Metcalf’s situation.
Metcalf would be a massive upgrade for the Chiefs, as he has proven to be a franchise cornerstone for the Seahawks.
Across his six-year career, Metcalf has 6,324 yards and 48 touchdowns.
He is a physical specimen as well, standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 235 pounds.
Metcalf is also extremely quick for his size, running a 4.33 second 40-yard dash at the 2019 NFL combine.
The Chiefs haven’t had a 1,000-yard receiver outside of Travis Kelce (who is a tight end) since Tyreek Hill left the team in 2022.
NFL fans aren’t convinced that Metcalf will be a Chief though, and shared their thoughts about where he could end up.
“The Bears are a contender,” one fan said.
“OMG HE IS A STEELER,” another fan said.
“Chargers or ravens should be favorites just with the relationships,” a third fan said.
“Do I hear the 49ers music?” a fourth fan said.
