Therefore, the CEO of Telxius will replace the current one, Mario Martín, in a position he has held for the last eight years. Martín does not leave Telefónica, but rather changes responsibility. For a few weeks now he has been Head of the Telefónica office in the United Kingdom, newly created and based in London.
This office will report directly to the CEO of Telefónica, Emilio Gayo, within the framework of the operator’s new Transform & Grow Strategic Plan, as well as reinforcing the weight of Europe as a key axis in the Telefónica Group’s strategy.

He began his career 28 years ago in the investment banking area at JP Morgan, and has been linked to Telefónica since 2002 as Director of Group Corporate Development, in addition to being Head of the CEO’s office of Telefónica Europe. These are just two of the positions he has held in the company since joining the group.
