Apple’s iPhone 17 line-up is one of the much-anticipated smartphones expected to come in 2025. The upcoming iPhone 17 series might include the iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. However, the iPhone 17 Air has nowadays become the latest talk of the town. The iPhone 17 Air is expected to be the slimmest iPhone ever with 6.25mm. As per new reports, the smartphone has entered the New Product Introduction (NPI) phase at Foxconn. The reports from supply chain sources indicated that the smartphone might have gone for mass production.
The NPI phase is basically a structured process that takes any smartphone manufacturing idea toward its fully reproducible end product. The iPhone 17 Air has entered the initial stage of manufacturing bringing its journey to reality. However, nothing has been confirmed from the company’s side but we can sooner or later expect a new era of iPhone. It is expected to replace the Plus model in the iPhone lineup.
The reports further claim that Apple could remove the physical SIM tray from the iPhone 17 Air. This would happen because the iPhone 17 Air is the slimmest iPhone. To recall, iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro are 7.8mm and 8.25mm respectively which makes them comparatively thicker. Apple has been selling iPhones with E SIM in the US since the launch of the iPhone 14. But in India, we still have the physical SIM tray slot.
Other reports claim that the iPhone 17 Air could feature a single rear camera placed in the center at the top. Reportedly it will also come with its own custom 5G modem chip and it will be smaller than the 5G modem chip available from Qualcomm. The display might be around 6.6 inches in size. Apple is also exploring to bring its first foldable iPhone.
