Apple has new beta firmware available today for AirPods Pro 3, AirPods Pro 2, and AirPods 4. Here are the details.
Update 2/16/26: The firmware shipped to developers on February 12, but now today on February 16, public beta testers received the same AirPods update.
Latest AirPods beta firmware available across three models
If you’re running the developer beta for AirPods, you might have a new update installing soon.
Apple has just released new beta firmware with the build 8B5034f.
It’s available for three AirPods models only:
- AirPods Pro 3
- AirPods Pro 2
- AirPods 4
The last time beta firmware arrived for these models was late last year.
Currently, these different AirPods all have different firmware versions in the latest public release builds. AirPods Pro 3 run build 8B34, AirPods Pro 2 are 8B28, and AirPods 4 are 8B21.
But Apple sometimes does things differently for its beta releases.
Like all public AirPods firmware updates, there’s no way to manually trigger the installation of new firmware. Instead, you’ll simply need to follow Apple’s official steps to get your AirPods ready to update, and they’ll install the latest firmware in the background.
If you haven’t used AirPods beta firmware before, you’ll need to first opt in via the AirPods settings screen in the Settings app.
Have you installed the new AirPods beta firmware? Notice anything different? Let us know in the comments.
