Apple will close one of its retail stores in the Chinese city of Dalian on August 9, marking its first store closure in the country since entering the market in 2008. With more than 530 stores worldwide, Apple currently operates around 56 retail locations across China. In a statement, the American tech giant said the store is closing due to the departure of several other retailers from AEON MALL, the shopping complex in Dalian where the Apple store is located. The AEON MALL store is one of two Apple Stores in Dalian, and the other outlet will remain open. Apple said affected employees will be offered opportunities to transfer to other stores.
