Atos will be the in charge of maintaining, updating and providing support to the AI platform of the Madrid City Councilwhich awarded these services last March to the consulting firm within the framework of the Madrid Artificial Intelligence (MAIA) initiative.
The objective pursued by Madrid City Council with this award to Atos is to optimize administrative processes, improve municipal services and internal management, and offer citizens efficient, proactive and personalized value-added services.
As stipulated in the contract between Madrid City Council and Atos, generative AI will allow the development of an ecosystem of AI agents, focused on helping citizens solve their needs from the City Council.
The contract will last three years, and there is the possibility of extending it for another year. It includes corrective, adaptive and evolutionary maintenance of the services that operate on the Madrid City Council’s AI platform. In addition, it covers operational support for users, as well as the IT and Communications Service of the Madrid City Council (Easydro).
Atos, in collaboration with the Madrid City Council, promotes collaboration in the use of AI through technological surveillance, an innovation laboratory, a knowledge network, specialized training and technical and methodological support for the design and monitoring of AI projects.
The consultancy is also developing new use cases, as well as improvements, in the municipal AI platform, in addition to solving incidents and adapting its systems to technical changes and regulations, with assistance for daily operations and end users. Among the use cases that Atos is developing are Clear Communication and Pipeline of documentary objects (text, audio, video), which point to the potential that AI has for use in public service.
Clear Communication will deal with improving the writing and understanding of administrative texts, with the aim of guaranteeing that citizens find them clear, accessible and understandable. This will be possible because it will follow the Clear Communication Guide of the Madrid City Council. Thanks to the incorporation of advanced language models, the system is capable of analyzing the context, suggesting changes and justifying them.
As for Document Object Pipeline, it allows you to automatically process audio, video and text files, and then convert their content to structured information. To do this, it uses transcription and OCR techniques, and generates vector representations, which facilitate semantic searches and contextual queries.
This capability speeds up the location of relevant information, and makes it possible to integrate Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) systems to provide accurate and contextualized responses.
Jose Miguel Gonzalez Aguilera, Deputy Director General of Innovation and Emerging Services of the Madrid City Councilhas pointed out that “andAt the Madrid City Council we work to improve the daily lives of Madrid residents.
