Disney+ and Hulu now have a combined login, and you can now access Hulu either in its own app or as a Disney+ channel. The Hulu interface will ride into the sunset sometime next year. Until then, Disney brings you the ultra-popular Marvel and Star Wars franchises, while Hulu covers a more adult-oriented niche with loads of movies and shows from network partners.
The two services release a ton of content every week, so I’ll make it easy for you by picking three worthwhile new entries. Bake some sweet treats, enjoy some snarky sci-fi animation, and watch a dark comedy about a murderous obituary writer this week. Halloween Baking Championship (Oct. 11, Hulu)
Food Network’s annual tribute to spooky season is always a good time, as top-notch bakers from all over the world assemble in a creepy kitchen to create ridiculous and delicious desserts for Halloween. If you need inspo for your Devil’s Night party, it’s fun to see what the experts do, even if you might not be able to pull off some of their techniques.
Solar Opposites: Season 6 (Oct. 13, Hulu)
If you don’t get enough inspired sci-fi lunacy from Rick and Morty, the final season of Solar Opposites should tide you over. With the departure of disgraced co-creator Justin Roiland after the third season, the show has been steadily improving in quality, with a tremendous cast and some very funny done-in-one episodes that don’t have the sometimes tiring cynicism of R&M. Alas, it’s canceled after this latest batch of episodes.
Obituary: Season 2 (Oct. 14, Hulu)
If you like black comedy as dark as it gets, Irish series Obituary should be on your watchlist. Siobhan Cullen stars as Elvira Clancy, a small-town newspaper writer tasked with writing the obituaries for locals who have passed on. In an attempt to spice up her job, she starts murdering people so she’ll have more interesting things to write about.
