The Chicago Bears hold the No. 10 overall pick in the draft in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Their first-round selection will be made early on the first night April 24.
And Johnson told The Sun who he wants the team to select.
“I’m a big Kelvin Banks fan,” he said. “My guy at Uniersity of Texas.
“I was there when he came in as a freshman and he started for us right away.
“He was a pro as soom as he stepped on the campus – Top to bottom, as a person, on the field and off the field.
“When the pads come on he’s a dog.
“He’s someone I would love to run behind again.
“That’s my take on it but we’ll see how it ends up.”
Banks, 21, plays offensive tackle and has won numerous awards in college.
He was a five-star recruit and became starting left tackle as soon as he signed in 2022.
The offensive lineman is expected to be a first-round pick.
Johnson was a fourth-round pick two years ago by the Bears.
He has spent two seasons as D’Andre Swift’s backup and compliment in the Chicago backfield.
The 24-year-old remembers the anxiety of the period between leaving college and the NFL Draft.
“It’s definitely a wave of emotions,” he said.
“There’s really no way to deal with it besides worrying about what you can control.
“It’s a little space of anxiety I feel like every athlete has to go through in the process.
“There’s a lot of things you’re dealing with in those moments.
“From training to interviews to the uncertainty of not knowing where you’re going to go.”
Johnson will head into his third season in 2025 having been a team ambassador on a trip overseas.
He spoke to The Sun from England at a flag football event for girls.
“I definitely flag football is something that has a lot of growth potential,” he said.
“With it being an Olympic sport in 2028, I definitely think it’s something that can spread to a lot of different demographics.
“Not just boys but girls, not just in America but over in the UK as well and worldwide.
“I will be keeping up with it – they probably won’t let me play in it – but I’m excited to see it.”
