UPDATE: Belkin has sent an email to customers reminding them that support for most Wemo smart home products will end on Jan. 31. After this date, the company will shut down the Wemo app and cloud-based features, such as remote access and voice assistant integrations. It will also end firmware updates and technical support for affected devices.
All but four Wemo devices are impacted by the Wemo app’s shutdown. The lists of affected and unaffected devices are available on the company’s website.
Select Wemo smart home accessories will keep working if you set them up using Apple HomeKit before Jan. 31. The list includes the following:
-
Wemo Smart Light Switch 3-Way (WLS0403, WLS0503)
-
Wemo Wi-Fi Smart Light Switch with Dimmer (WDS060)
-
Wemo Smart Light Switch (WLS040)
-
Wemo HomeKit Bridge (F7C064)
-
Wemo Dimmer Light Switch (F7C059)
-

-
Wemo Stage Smart Scene Controller (WSC010)
-

A separate support page provides links to setup instructions for most of these products. The process requires a HomeKit code found on the back of the gadget or in its Quick Install guide.
Original Story (7/11/2025):
Belkin has announced it will end support for older Wemo smart home devices on Jan. 31, 2026. After the deadline, the company will shut down its app, cloud service, technical support, and troubleshooting assistance for almost all Wemo products. Belkin confirms four gadgets will remain functional.
“Any features that rely on cloud connectivity, including remote access and voice assistant integrations, will no longer work,” Belkin says.
The four products that will continue to be functional are Thread protocol-based products, namely, the Wemo Smart Light Switch 3-Way (WLS0503), the Wemo Stage Smart Scene Controller (WSC010), the Wemo Smart Plug with Thread (WSP100), and the Wemo Smart Video Doorbell Camera (WDC010).
These products can be controlled through Apple HomeKit. Any other Wemo product configured through Apple HomeKit before Jan. 31, 2026, will also continue to be functional, Belkin says.

On a support page, the company has published a long list of products losing support. If these devices are still under warranty and you have proof of purchase, you’ll be eligible for a partial refund after the deadline.
Belkin launched the Wemo brand in 2011, with products like smart plugs, baby monitors, smart bulbs, smart switches and motion sensors. Belkin says the decision to wind down support for most products was a difficult one, and it was taken to shift focus towards other departments.
Over the last decade, “we’ve been committed to providing consumers with innovative, simple-to-use accessories for a seamless smart home experience. However, as technology evolves, we must focus our resources on different parts of the Belkin business,” the support page reads.
