A BELOVED discount chain has confirmed it is opening eight new locations this summer as part of a mass expansion.
Target announced the upcoming stores alongside plans to open more than 300 locations over the next decade.

Around 20 in total are scheduled to open this year with more on their way in October.
Shoppers are set to be delighted by the news with many already praising its budget-friendly prices and quality compared to rivals.
One fan said on X that “Target is better than Walmart”.
“It’s a much cleaner, nicer store with better everything than Kroger,” another shopper added.
Others have praised the continued push for brick and mortar stores as many retailers focus on online.
“Target in store is 100% better than Target online,” one wrote.
The new stores arriving this summer will be spread across six states.
“We’re celebrating the opening of eight new stores this summer, bringing Target’s easy, affordable and joy-filled shopping experience and good jobs to communities in California, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania,” Target said this week.
“They’re the latest examples of the more than 300 new stores we plan to build during the next decade as we aim to serve even more consumers.”
The retail chain has promised customers “high quality” and “incredible value” whether they shop in-store or online.
New York will be seeing the first opening scheduled for July 20.
The 41,000-square-foot location is set to open in Queens Astoria, it’s eighth for the borough.
It will also have a CVS pharmacy and offer order pick-up, same day delivery and next-day delivery.
All other grand openings are scheduled for August 17.

Jurupa Valley in California will be getting a much larger store complete with a Starbucks Cafe, Target Optical, and CVS Pharmacy.
Guilford, Connecticut, will also be getting the same perks with its new Target store that will be the first for the area.
The Constitution State will also be getting two Target stores this summer with a second opening in Norwalk.
It will be the state’s 24th location following.
Bradenton Heritage Harbor in Florida will also have a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its second Target store that will also stock fresh and affordable produce as well as pantry staples, the retailer said.
A second Florida location will be opening in Wildwood also offering fresh produce and everyday essentials.
Target will be opening a smaller store in Flemington, New Jersey, making it the state’s 53rd location.
And Pennsylvania will be getting its 79th Target when the new store opens in West Goshen in August.
Meanwhile, a clothing chain is also marking out an expansion with 10 new stores opening in weeks.
Plus, a grocery chain dubbed “better than Costco” is going to open 30 news sites.
