In all these trends there is a common denominator: 2025 will be the year in which Nostalgic and handmade designs merge with the precision of new technologies.
Below are the key creative trends to stand out at work, on social media and beyond:
- Analog + AI. Goodbye to the old, hello to the new? In 2025, both worlds are expected to merge. Inspired by analog techniques such as collage, this intersection of past and present opens up a world of possibilities for design in the age of AI. Searches for “scrapbook” on Canva have increased 92% since last year.
- Theory of Forms. Square shapes are back in fashion. Actually, any way. This modular style uses bold shapes to create structure, while adding backlit photography and warm colors for a personal touch. It is the trend where functionality meets cosiness. The search terms “shapes” and “modular” have grown by 56% and 23% respectively in the last year.
- Minimalist Luxury. Exalts a luxury lifestyle. This trend combines a minimalist aesthetic with elaborate details, balanced with generous use of white space. The result is a design that conveys discreet glamor through striking and harmonious compositions. The search terms “elegant” and “luxury” increase by 33% and 30% respectively.
- Seriously Fun. A fun way to combine work and pleasure. As playful as it is strategic, this style mixes humor and casual elements in surprising ways to reinvent professional designs. It has everything it takes to make us fall in love with our work. The search terms “silly,” “funny,” and “humor” have increased by 92%, 36%, and 27% respectively.
- Future in Motion. A little dynamism makes a difference. This trend relies on movement to enrich the narrative experience. Subtle moving gradients and dynamic typography stand out, as they add rhythm and fluidity to the design. The search terms “motion”, “animation” and “interactive” have increased by 109%, 78% and 46% respectively.
- Raw Elegance. Sometimes less is more. This trend challenges conventional aesthetics with a simplified approach that encourages unique visual identities and distinctive voices. It is a style that naturally marks its own path. The search terms “innovative”, “bold” and “avant-garde” have increased by 71%, 40% and 23% respectively.
- Mechanical Botany. When technology meets biology. This trend fuses natural and dreamlike textures with the intentional use of gradients and white space to achieve harmony. It seems that opposites attract. The search terms “techno” and “cyber” have increased by 30% and 32% respectively.
