LEGENDARY broadcaster Jim Nantz broke down in tears after his beloved Houston Cougars’ dramatic comeback victory over Duke.
Houston picked up a stunning 70-67 victory over Cooper Flagg and co on Saturday at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas during March Madness.

And Nantz, 65, was seen getting emotional at the stands after the final whistle, which sealed the Cougars’ qualification for their first national title game for over 40 years.
The veteran CBS announcer’s reaction went viral and fans stormed social media to pay tribute to the iconic Houston alumnus.
One fan tweeted: “That’s awesome! Glad he got to enjoy that one as a fan.
“He has been a huge part of so many special tournament memories for so many of us. Hope he’s enjoying the ride for his Cougs.”
Another wrote: “It was an emotional last few minutes.”
A third commented: “That’s nuts, no lie.”
This fan said: “Good for Jim. Always been a proud Coug.”
And that one posted: “So awesome for Jim Nantz, the Houston Cougars graduate and fan.”
Nantz, who called his final college basketball game in the 2023 Final Four, played golf for Houston until his graduation in 1981.
The announcer went on to become the voice of March Madness before crossing over to golf’s PGA Tour, the Masters and NFL games.
Houston are now set to take on the Florida Gators in the NCAA championship match tonight at the Alamodome.
