CES 2026 is right around the corner, and you know what that means: big reveals and huge announcements from massive tech brands, all under one roof (well, maybe several) in sunny Las Vegas.
Whether you’re hyped for the next Intel CPU collection or want to get a good look at Samsung’s new Galaxy TriFold, the 2026 edition of the Consumer Electronics Show is set to be a big one.
While not all companies have confirmed exact plans just yet, here are a few of the big announcements you should expect.
Samsung could show off the TriFold to US audiences
Samsung has just lifted the lid on its long-awaited Galaxy TriFold, whose existence was first teased at CES 2025. It’s set for release in South Korea this month, with US availability expected in 2026.
It’s an impressive feat of engineering too; similar to the Huawei Mate XT, the TriFold is a 6.5-inch phone when folded, but unfolds into a tablet-esque 10-inch AMOLED screen. It measures in at just 3.8mm thick, making it one of the thinnest foldables yet, and weighs 308g.
We’ve compared the Galaxy TriFold to the Galaxy Z Fold 7 if you want to find out more about the new foldable.
With that in mind, it makes complete sense for the Galaxy TriFold to make its in-person debut at CES 2026, giving attendees the first opportunity to see the new-style foldable ahead of its later release.
Intel is confirmed to launch the Core Ultra 3 series
Intel has already confirmed that this one is happening: the launch of the Core Ultra Series 3, codenamed “Panther Lake”, at CES. According to Intel, the event – due to take place on 5th January – will also focus on a new wave of AI PCs and new client processors.
It’s expected that we’ll see a new Xeon 6 Workstation collection at the event too – the entire lineup leaked recently, after all.
AMD could reveal a new Ryzen 7 CPU
AMD’s Dr. Lisa Su is set to open CES 2026 with a keynote, bright and early on the morning of 5 January. The company has confirmed that Su will cover AMD’s AI strategies as well as consumer devices – and it’s the latter that we’re hoping for.
More specifically, we’re expecting the announcement of the AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D. The company itself briefly leaked the existence of the chipset via its driver pages recently, confirming that there is an update coming soon, and the company tends to make these kinds of announcements at CES.
We could see the first Snapdragon X2 Elite and X2 Elite Extreme laptops
Qualcomm revealed the next-gen desktop-level Snapdragon X2 Elite and X2 Elite Extreme chipsets back at Snapdragon Summit in September, with the first systems due in the first half of 2026.
As with the first Snapdragon X Elite chipset, we expect the first wave of not only laptops but mini PCs and maybe even all-in-ones running the latest chipset to make their debut at CES 2025.
AI here, there and everywhere
No matter where you look in the tech scene, you’ll find AI. Smart home? We’ve got an AI assistant for that. Laptop? Oh yes, there’s an AI feature for that. Glasses? Wearables? Phones? Beds? Yep, you guessed it: AI.
With such a heavy focus on artificial intelligence and genAI in particular, it’s clear that brands of all shapes and sizes will want to flex their AI muscles at the big tech show. Brands including Lenovo, AMD, Intel and more all have talks focused purely on AI, and that’ll likely be reflected on the show floor too.
Plenty of prototypes and concepts
Of course, the most exciting aspect of big tech shows like CES is the prototypes and concepts on offer – and there’s going to be a whole lot at CES.
It’s where brands tend to show off far-flung concepts and ideas, whether that’s the legendary tri-screen Razer laptop the brand showed off back in 2016 or, more recently in 2025, the likes of Honda 0 series and Acer’s Project DualPlay, and we can’t imagine that slowing down any time soon.
