CHAD Johnson spent 10 years as a member of the Cincinnati Bengals and is keeping a close eye on them in 2025.
Now 15 years since he retired, Johnson is offering his advice for how the Cincinnati Bengals can return to the Super Bowl.

According to Johnson, the team needs to establish itself early in the season.
“For us? Offense,” Johnson told The U.S. Sun.
“Get us to a fast start, please.”
The way the Bengals can do that, is playing their starting offense in the preseason.
“More players need to play in the preseason instead of just trying to go out there Week 1 and pick it up,” Johnson said.
“So preseason is really good. Get yourself acclimated to the speed of the game.”
The Bengals did exactly what Johnson asked of them in the first week of the preseason, sending Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase out in the first quarter.
“Small sample size of what I saw offensively last night from Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase, thank you,” he said.
“That’s what we need.”
The two looked spectacular together while playing against the reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.
Burrow passed for 123 yards and two touchdowns on just nine completed passes.
Four of those passes went to Chase, who got 77 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor shared a similar philosophy to Johnson, saying preseason touches have a huge benefit for his starters.
“Just the threat of being hit is a big reason why we want those guys out there, wanting Joe out there,” Taylor said.
“Because he knows he’s not going to get hit in practice.

“Just for it to feel real in a game, whether he’s getting hit or not.
“I think just him having the knowledge that it’s possible, you know, someone can lose a one-on-one.
“Now you hit on the backside, a free runner can come in.”
The Bengals have a few more preseason contests before kicking off their season on the road.
Cincinnati will take on the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, September 7 at 1:00 pm ET.
