DALLAS COWBOYS wideout CeeDee Lamb has been ruled out for the remainder of the NFL season.
The 25-year-old receiver will not suit up for the two remaining games against the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders.
Lamb initially sprained the AC joint in his right shoulder back in November.
Despite the issue, he played through the pain and did not miss any of the Cowboys’ first 15 games this season.
With Dallas out of playoff contention, the organization have confirmed Lamb is done for 2024.
Head coach Mike McCarthy revealed the former first-round pick will sit out the remaining two matches.
“When they had the scans and examination it was just clearly worse than it’s been,” McCarthy said.
“The risk is too high to play this week.
“Even if we were in Week 3, this would probably be the same decision.
“It’s important for him to shut it down and start rehabbing.”
But in a positive sign, a team spokesperson confirmed Lamb would not require surgery, per CBS Sports.
“He will undergo a process of treatment and rehabilitation for his shoulder, is not currently expected to require surgery and is projected to make a full recovery,” they said.
The Cowboys face two division rivals to close out what has been a disappointing year.
They are currently 7-8 and visit the Eagles on Sunday, before host the Commanders in Week 18.
Starting quarterback Dak Prescott has been absent since mid-November with his own injury, leaving Lamb to catch passes from backup Cooper Rush.
Prior to the season, Lamb penned a four-year, $134 million deal with the Cowboys after a summer holdout.

Lamb ranks as the No. 3 overall WR in reception yards across the entire NFL.
And he recently became the first player in franchise history to hit 100-plus receptions and over 1,000 receiving yards over three consecutive years.
The loss of the team’s star wideout comes as a blow to the Cowboys prior to a grudge match with the Eagles.
Should Philadelphia win or tie Sunday’s game, they will clinch top spot in the NFC East.
