It is high time for Disneyland Paris to celebrate its renewal. In a few months, Europe’s leading tourist destination will enter a new era with the opening of its massive extension, unveiled for the first time in February 2018. The impressive Avengers Campus inaugurated in 2022 was only the preamble to a vast overhaul of Walt Disney Studios Park, which will come to fruition with the arrival of the land The Snow Queen and the enormous central lake, Adventure Bay. After several years of intensive work, the Ile-de-France resort is finally preparing the launch festivities of Disney Adventure Worldthe new identity of the second park.
At the invitation of Disneyland Paris, we had the chance to visit the construction sites of the new area in order to reveal its secrets to you, but also and above all to report its opening date. To best prepare for your future visit to Disney Adventure World and its Frozen land, here is everything we learned during this preview.
When will Disney Adventure World open?
Last September, the Walt Disney Company set the opening window for World of Frozen (and therefore Disney Adventure World) in spring 2026. A few weeks before the new year, the tourist destination ends the suspense and finally announces the precise date that everyone was waiting for. Visitors to Disneyland Paris will be able to discover new experiences starting March 29, 2026.
The Kingdom of Arendelle comes to life
At the edge of the new lake, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in the world of The Snow Queen. Le land World of Frozen, already existing at Hong Kong Disneyland, will offer a whole host of activities, starting with a state-of-the-art attraction: Frozen Ever After. This boat adventure is a reworked version of the attraction of the same name, which opened at Walt Disney World’s EPCOT park in 2016.
But immersion in this magical kingdom will be made possible through a set of experiences. Whether it’s eating, shopping, or even just wandering around, every moment spent there will represent the animated classic to perfection. Visitors will, for example, be able to have lunch in a fast food area with perfectly Nordic decor, offering the resort’s very first customizable menu. Terminals will allow you to compose your own dish by choosing a base, a protein and different accompaniments.
Arendelle Castle will house a meeting place with Anna and Elsa. The park’s two shops will offer more than 150 exclusive products dedicated to World of Frozen, something to delight fans of goodies. One of the exclusive creations is a small interactive troll called Runa, who will be able to respond to voice, touch, but also to certain areas of the land.
But the biggest novelty revealed today is undoubtedly the musical show which will take place on longships in the Bay of Arendelle throughout the day. These four performances of around fifteen minutes will be an opportunity for visitors to meet their favorite characters, including a larger-than-life Olaf, developed by the Imagineers, the engineers of Disney magic.
The “Celebration in Arendelle” show will revolve around a surprise that the adorable snowman wants to organize for Anna and Elsa, in honor of the Snow Flower Festival, a celebration created especially for the land. This show will feature new music imagined by the composers of the animated film, especially for Disneyland Paris. Our land may be missing the Hong Kong coaster, but this exclusivity is nice to see.
Concerning access to the land, Disneyland Paris is already warning future visitors of the high demand to come: Entrance to the Kingdom of Arendelle may be subject to a specific queue if maximum capacity is reached.
Adventure Way and Adventure Bay come alive throughout the day
But the world of Frozen will not be the only novelty that will amaze visitors. During our visit, the Disneyland Paris teams finally presented to us all of the activities that will take place along Adventure Way and around Adventure Bay, and which will make these spaces magical and lively places all day long. Upon entering the land, visitors will be able to discover Raiponce Tangled Spinan attraction inspired by the famous “cups” of the main park. Except that here, we get into boats under the famous lanterns from the film. The English voice of Rapunzel (Mandy Moore) will take care of sharing safety instructions alongside the French voice of Flynn Rider (Romain Duris).
Minnie’s Marching Band, first presented this summer as part of the Disney Music Festival in the main park, will return to Disney Adventure World around the lake. Minnie will be accompanied by 12 musicians to perform iconic music from the Disney, Pixar and Marvel universes. Other musical happenings from this same celebration will take place in one of the Adventure Way gardens (the path leading to the lake), depending on the season. In the spring, visitors will be able to spend some time with Rapunzel and Flynn. In summer, Mary Poppins will take over. And in autumn, the world of Coco will be in the spotlight with Miguel’s Fiesta. Character meet-and-greet fans can stop by and say hello to Mickey and Minnie in their new Victorian costumes inspired by the architecture of Adventure Bay.
Speaking of architecture, the new Regal View restaurant will allow visitors to have lunch while sharing a special moment with Disney princesses, in equally exclusive dresses. Better yet, a terrace will become the ideal place to eat while watching the new nighttime show at Disney Adventure World. Visitors dining indoors will also be able to enjoy audio of the show, which will be broadcast live.
End your day in style with Disney Cascade of Light
Who says reworked park, says new night show. From its inauguration, Disney Adventure World will invite guests to gather around Adventure Bay Lake when it closes to experience a breathtaking spectacle. For several years now, Disneyland Paris has established itself as a pioneer in drone-based night shows, and Disney Cascade of Light will further push the limits.
This magical moment will last approximately sixteen minutes and will present scenes inspired by major Disney licenses, orchestrated by a scenario on the theme of inspiration. An exclusive song titled “We Can Be Heroes” will also be played during the show. From a technical point of view, Disneyland Paris and its French partner Dronisos have planned an army of new generation drones. 379 reinforced drones capable of resisting water and wind will soar through the skies of Disney Adventure World to provide the spectacle regardless of weather conditions. A new type of drone “Duck” (for “duck”) has been developed especially for the French park. 100 of these aquatic drones will move on the surface of the water to illuminate the lake.
Every evening, a structure will be installed in the center of the lake by electric boats in order to produce sails of water on which to project images, but also to launch different pyrotechnic effects. This strategic positioning makes this spectacle a 360-degree experience, visible from any location around the lake. The edges of the lake were built on several levels to provide an unobstructed view for everyone.
The park teams told us that The opening hours of Disney Adventure World will now be identical to those of Disneyland Paris, so that the nighttime shows will be performed at the same time. Therefore, visitors will have to choose between Disney Tales of Magic on Sleeping Beauty Castle or Disney Cascade of Light on Adventure Bay Lake to end their day in style. This will allow visitors to be distributed between the two parks and relieve congestion in the spaces dedicated to nighttime shows for a better viewing experience.
