Things are starting to get busy around Battlefield 6. Two months after the game was made official by Electronic Arts, which gave us an appointment next year for the first official information, we learned today that the American publisher does not intend to reproduce the same errors. According to Insider Gaming’s sources, EA is preparing for the next Battlefield, the largest test campaign never carried out for one of its games in order to avoid a failed launch with many bugs.
Battlefield 6: the return to the top of the license?
It is far, far away the time when Battlefield did unanimity and that he had the luxury to compete and even outperform Call of Duty. The latest opuses which have made everyone agree are Battlefield 3 (in 2011) and Battlefield 4 (in 2013). Since then, we cannot say that the fans have been spoiled, especially with the last two opuses, Battlefield V (in 2018) and Battlefield 2042 (in 2021) who clearly have sinks the license.
While Call of Duty returns to the top with Black Ops 6 (also after a long journey through the desert), it seems that Electronic Arts is determined to do the same. EA promises to « l’innovation » and one ” revolution “ for his next title. Vince Zempella, the CEO of the company confirmed that the game would offer a “back to basics” with 64 players, total destruction and a modern setting.
We now learn that the next Battlefield 6 will be the game the most ambitious of the saga and also the most expensive to produce with no less than four studios who are working on the title including DICE, Motive, Criterion Games and Ripple Effect. According to Insider Gaming sources, EA is increasing internal testing and in a way much more rigorous with an amount of data and feedback collected the most important that the franchise has known in its history.
Obviously, Electronic Arts wishes to highlight player experience above allso every little detail is taken into account, from the smallest feedback session to large-scale player testing, everything is carefully noted to correct the slightest problem. Moreover, it seems that at the beginning of 2025, Electronic Arts could achieve the first community testsalthough for the moment, Insider Gaming cannot specify under what conditions this will be done and especially on what scale.
In any case, this information seem very positive and it’s nice to see, finally, EA taking player feedback and their experience as a priority. We now hope that the result will live up to the promises. See you in 2025 to see all this.
