For CIE Automotive SA, supplying automotive components and assemblies from its global network of manufacturing plants required a complex set of enterprise resource planning, or ERP systems. As the company grew, it needed to integrate and manage its core business processes to avoid organizational chaos.
Iker Hernández, Deputy Officer at CIE Automotive, talks with theCUBE about how Celonis worked with CIE to implement a centralized ERP network platform.
CIE wanted a centralized point not only to manage business data, but to ask questions of that critical information and gain insights from it. It brought this complex problem to the process intelligence provider Celonis SE.
“Since we are so decentralized, we have so many different ERP systems, SAP-based ones, but also not SAP-based ones,” said Iker Hernández (pictured), deputy chief compliance officer of CIE Automotive. “Before, we were not able to see in one platform all the information. How can we somehow have the same language? Celonis.”
Hernández spoke with theCUBE’s Savannah Peterson and Rob Strechay at Celosphere 25, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, News Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed how Celonis worked with CIE to implement a centralized ERP network platform. (* Disclosure below.)

Celonis’ solution involved connecting all of CIE’s operational and ERP systems via one platform. The online solution enabled Hernández and other executives to rapidly access key information, regardless of which country data repository was involved.
“Now we have everything online,” Hernández explained. “We have everything day-by-day in Celonis, all the processes. That gives us full view, not only for me but also for all the directors of divisions. It’s being able to see in one place information from China, from Brazil, no matter the ERP.”
A side benefit from creating a more centralized process within CIE has been to provide users with more efficient data analysis. A steady stream of real-time data has sharpened the company’s ability to focus on key business priorities, according to Hernández.
“Celonis is helping me to understand where I have to put my focus,” he said. “I was thinking, for example, ‘Yes, I have to focus on subcontracts.’ Now Celonis has given me exactly where, in which country, in which plants, with which suppliers, and on real data, on daily data.”
