There is no longer any doubt: the cards Pokémon are booming. Launching the application Pokémon TCG Pocket last October did not fail to rekindle the acute collecting of fans around the world. The year 2025 has only just begun, but the craze for little pocket monsters almost reminds us of the madness of a few years ago. In 2020, the movement to open and resell cards launched by a few major influencers had made the hobby almost inaccessible, with the products then finding themselves targeted by scalpers. Today, the extension Surging Sparks is almost impossible to find, while the new EV8.5 set Prismatic Evolutions is already a source of discord even before its scheduled release this Friday, January 17.
Despite everything, the releases keep coming and the Pokémon trading card game is already looking to the future. From March 28, the EV9 expansion Adventures Together will enter the shelves and will mark the return of Trainer Pokémon. This style of card already promises to be a hit with collectors and players alike, thanks to the inclusion of very popular characters and well-crafted game mechanics. To prepare you for this major release at the start of the year, here is everything you need to know about the Adventures Together cards.

Four headlining trainers
The boosters and various products from the expansion will feature four emblematic trainers from recent generations. We will therefore find Pokémon from Mashynn (Scarlet and Purple), Nabil (Sword and Shield), Lily (Sun and Moon) et N (Black and White). The imminent launch of Japanese cards has already made it possible to see cards such as Nabil’s Zacian, N’s Zoroark and Lilie’s Melofée. In our green lands, the set will be composed of the following rare cards:
- 4 Pokémon-ex from Trainers
- 16 Pokémon-ex
- 11 Pokémon “illustration rare” (a gold star at the bottom of the card)
- 6 “rare special illustration” Pokémon (two gold stars at the bottom of the card)
- 3 “hyper rare” golden cards
The first French boosters will be available during preview tournaments, organized by local stores starting March 15. Afterwards, single boosters, ETBs (elite trainer boxes) and other products will debut on March 28. Note also that a special display accompanied by a Reshiram de N promo card will also be available for sale. Unfortunately, even if pre-orders are not yet open, certain products are already displayed at high prices on resale platforms. You will therefore have to arm yourself with courage and patience to find these products.
A key expansion for the future of the card game
The exit ofAdventures Together will be closely followed by the rotation of the standard JCC format. This will take effect from April 11 for official Play! events. Pokémon. From this date, all cards stamped “F” at the bottom left of the map will no longer be legal in tournaments. This means that all the last yellow-edged cards in the block Sword and Shield – including Pokémon V, V-Star and Radieux – will no longer be playable.
The EV9 block will therefore be the first to display the marking “J” and will introduce new mechanics to refresh the meta of the game. The rotation of the 2024 to 2025 season promises big changes for the TCG with Trainer Pokémon as the new flagship mechanic. Later, the video game Pokémon Legends ZA – more information about which will be revealed during Pokémon Day 2025 on February 27 – could also mark the return of Mega Evolutions to the card game. If you are still hesitant about learning the card game, next spring is already shaping up to be the ideal time to dive into it.
