The presentation of the Samsung Galaxy S25 is approaching and a lot of information is circulating about this highly anticipated range. After placing the Galaxy S24, S24 Plus and especially the Galaxy S24 Ultra among the market references, Samsung will want to stay the course with this highly anticipated series. Like last year, the South Korean brand’s message should focus heavily on artificial intelligence and Galaxy AI. The manufacturer really likes the theme, but other interesting new features are planned to thwart the plans of ever fiercer competition. So, what does Samsung have in store for us in 2025 with its flagship range? We tell you everything in this complete summary.
When will the Samsung Galaxy S25s be released?
Samsung will liven up the year 2025 from January by unveiling its new range of smartphones. The latest rumors indicate that the manufacturer will organize a Galaxy Unpacked event on January 22, 2025 in the United States. During the event, Samsung is expected to present three models: the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Plus.

The range would arrive a few days late compared to the Galaxy S24 series, unveiled on January 17, 2024.
The design of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra finally evolves
The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra may be among the best smartphones of the year, but its design is far from unanimous. Many find Samsung’s flagship too massive and rectangular, due to corners that are too angular which can hinder the grip. The brand would make changes in 2025 for the Galaxy S25 Ultra, without completely revolutionizing the style.
The various leaked images show a new design with flatter edges and more rounded corners. Adjustments that would erase its raw side and improve the handling of Samsung’s flagship model. After hesitating for a long time, the firm has found a way to round the corners of the Galaxy S25 Ultra without losing the stylus.
On the back, the photo block would opt for a style closer to the Galaxy Z Fold6 with modules surrounded by black. A discreet change since Samsung would keep the same location for the different sensors of its smartphone.
Images have also leaked for the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus and demonstrate a certain continuity. The changes are subtle, but the Galaxy S25 would gain in compactness (146.9 X 70.4 x 7.2 mm) compared to the Galaxy S24 (147 x 70.6 x 7.6 mm). Note that the few design changes suggest that the screen sizes would remain the same, namely 6.2 inches for the S25, 6.7 inches for the S25 Plus and 6.8 inches for the S25 Ultra.
As for colors, leakers are having a field day and Evan Blass mentioned the existence of the following colors:
Galaxy S25 et Galaxy S25+ :
- Blue Black: Blueish black
- Coral Red : Rouge corail
- Icy Blue: Ice blue
- Mint : Menthe
- Navy: Navy blue
- Pink Gold : Or rose
- Silver Shadow : Argent ombré
Galaxy S25 Ultra :
- Titanium Black: Titanium black
- Titanium Gray : Gris titane
- Titanium Jade Green : Vert jade titane
- Titanium Jet Black: Titanium jet black
- Titanium Pink Gold : Or rose titane
- Titanium Silver Blue: Titanium silver blue
- Titanium White Silver: Titanium silver white
Galaxy S25 Slim: the surprise model would arrive later
This year, a new model would complete the range and it risks stealing the show from the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim would be in preparation and would be distinguished by its ultra-thin design, since it would be thinner than the other models in the range.
Currently, the base Galaxy S24 is the thinnest at 7.6mm thick. Samsung would create a surprise by offering such a model, while rumors suggest the arrival of an iPhone 17 Air (or Slim) from Apple. The Korean giant has already tried the experiment this year by offering the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition, a more innovative and thinner folding model than the Galaxy Z Fold6. Unfortunately, this smartphone is currently reserved for the Korean market.
Rumors indicate that the Galaxy S25 Slim will not launch at the same time as the other Galaxy S25s. It could be the subject of a presentation in the second quarter of 2025 and would have “an “Ultra” camera”. This information from renowned leaker Ice Universe suggests the integration of a high-performance photo block despite the slim format.
Much more power for Galaxy AI?
Samsung regularly changes its strategy with regard to the chips that equip the Galaxy S. The brand has a habit of varying the pleasures by offering models under Snapdragon and others under Exynos. We thought that the manufacturer was going to put an end to this near when it decided to abandon Exynos chips in favor of Snapdragon on a global scale in 2023. A choice appreciated by critics and users, but which ultimately did not lasted only the time of the Galaxy S23.
When launching the Galaxy S24, Samsung offered versions under Snapdragon in some markets and Exynos in others. In France, the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus have Exynos 2400 chips while the Ultra version benefits from Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. And for the Galaxy S25?
All models should ultimately be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite. Engraved in 3 nm, the powerful SoC brings interesting improvements compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. True to form, the manufacturer could even offer an optimized and slightly more efficient “for Galaxy” version.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra would also take advantage of this to increase its amount of RAM. The brand would go back to 16 GB of RAM on its flagship model, which would be justified by the integration of increasingly resource-intensive AI features. However, the base Ultra model would retain 12 GB of RAM while the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus would offer 8 or 12 GB of RAM.
The storage part should not experience any upheaval, oscillating between 128 GB and 1 TB passing through intermediate models of 256 and 512 GB of storage.
Photo improvements for Galaxy S25 Ultra
Once again, all eyes are on the Galaxy S25 Ultra and the flagship would be entitled to interesting developments. It would retain its 200 Mpx main sensor (but it could be larger) and the 50 Mpx periscopic telephoto lens (x5 optical zoom) while two new features would appear. The first would concern the ultra wide-angle which would increase to 50 Mpx (compared to 12 Mpx on the Galaxy S24 Ultra) and would be capable of filming in 8K.
The second change would be for the “classic” telephoto lens with x3 zoom which would also increase to 50 Mpx (compared to 10 Mpx currently). However, this change is debated and other reports indicate that Samsung will keep a 10 Mpx module. The ultra-wide-angle would therefore be the only one to experience a major evolution, but we must not forget the impact of software improvements. These new photo features should allow Samsung to compete with Chinese competition and Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Concerning the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus, no significant changes are expected.
Battery: the revolution will wait
The battery is not the “sexiest” subject, but there is a change with the appearance of silicon-carbon batteries. The technology has a lot of potential, but it is not current at Samsung. The manufacturer should play the safety card by not greatly changing the capacity of the batteries and fast charging.
The Galaxy S25 would retain a 4000 mAh battery while the Galaxy S25 Plus would remain around 4,900 mAh. Same story for the Galaxy S25 Ultra which would expect a 5,000 mAh battery with 45 W fast charging (like the Galaxy S25 Plus). The flagship model would still improve its wireless charging to 25 W, compared to 15 W currently.
On the Galaxy S25, you would have to make do with wired charging stuck at 25 W.
One UI 7 (Android 15)
The entire range will arrive directly with the OneUI 7 interface based on Android 15. It brings new AI features that Samsung began to mention when formalizing the beta version. This update promises to be one of the most important and confirms that the new features are mainly software at Samsung.
After the launch of Galaxy AI last year, Samsung promises new “powerful features” leveraging AI and simplified controls. This new version is also an opportunity to offer a visual overhaul of the interface, whether for the application icons, the photo application or even the notification bubbles. When it comes to AI, One UI 7 plans to integrate advanced AI agents and multimodal capabilities.
Galaxy AI features will be updated to improve performance. Writing support tools could, for example, be accessible anywhere and whenever text is selectable. All the new features of OneUI 7 are covered in our dedicated article:
Prices would remain stable
Good news, the prices of the Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra will surely remain the same. Rumors mention the following prices for part of Europe:
- Galaxy S25 :
- 128 Go : 899 euros
- 256 Go : 959 euros
- Galaxy S25+
- 256 Go : 1 149 euros
- 512 Go : 1 269 euros
- Galaxy S25 Ultra
- 256 Go : 1 449 euros
- 512 Go : 1 569 euros
- 1 To : 1 809 euros
These prices would mainly concern Northern Europe and we are not immune to slight variations at the time of release in France. However, they are close to those practiced by Samsung in our regions for its Galaxy S24 range.
