Google’s entry-level smart thermostat won an “Excellent” rating in our 2020 review, with praise going to its breezy installation and full toolset, including integration with Google and Amazon smart home systems. We walked away very impressed by the Sensi Touch 2 in our review, noting that it was one of the easiest models on the market for the whole family to use thanks to the large color touch screen, which gives you access to a robust set of features and tools. Support for up to 15 remote room sensors let you create a detailed thermal image of your house, and rich usage reports let you focus in on trouble spots. We did ding it a few points for lacking compatibility with some smart home setups like Apple HomeKit, but that’s a minor issue, and a 22% discount makes it easier to swallow.

It’s not the newest model on the market, but Emerson’s Sensi smart thermostat is a reliable piece of tech that still performs well. In our 2021 review, we praised its complement of useful features, including geofencing to reduce the ambient temperature when you’re more than three miles from your home, lots of reports including usage and weather, and support for multiple home automation platforms. There are a few less-known brands working in the smart home space, and Chinese company Meross is celebrating its tenth year in business in 2026. They’ve continually expanded their product lines, introducing their first smart thermostat in 2022. Using the Matter smart home protocol, this unit works with most major platforms, including Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Samsung SmartThings, and more. The companion app gives you robust reports and the ability to set schedules, and setup is simple and lightning-fast. Smart alerts for system health, filter life, and other metrics make sure you keep up on maintenance. $63 is a nice price.
