TOM BRADY will make his Super Bowl debut in the broadcast booth on February 9.
The quarterback GOAT – who played in 10 Super Bowls and won a record SEVEN rings – will be calling the game alongside Kevin Burkhardt as Fox Sports announced its full line-up and coverage changes.
Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi will report live from the sidelines, while Mike Pereira is in the booth to talk officiating.
Fox is set to give football fans a bumper day of coverage as they begin their pregame show live from Bourbon Street.
Fox NFL Sunday begins at 1pm ET for FIVE-AND-A-HALF HOURS of live build-up to the big kick-off.
Curt Menefee will host the show, alongside fans’ favorites Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Michael Strahan, Jimmy Johnson, Rob Gronkowski, and NFL insider Jay Glazer.
But the extended show means an extended group of experts.
Host Charissa Thompson is also on duty, as well as Charles Woodson, Julian Edelman, Michael Vick and another NFL insider, Peter Schrager.
Kristina Pink and Manning Hour host Cooper Manning round out a stacked broadcast team.
Burkhardt, Brady, Andrews and Rinaldi are also expected to be part of the pregame show.
Brady, who is now a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders but appears to be heavily involved in their on-field decisions, has to follow certain rules to remain a broadcaster.
He signed a 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox but is forbidden from criticising officials or other teams.
He is also subject to the NFL’s anti-tampering policy, which complicates interactions with active players.
Brady, through his agent Don Yee, said there is no conflict of interest and will continue down a dual path.
Yee said: “Tom has had a tremendous amount of fun working with Fox this year, and he’s really excited about the future with Fox and his growth on their team.
“And this year was the first year of a long relationship.”
Meanwhile, Brady’s former coach Bill Belichick revealed he thinks the Vince Lombardi Trophy should be renamed after Brady.
Speaking with Jim Gray on the Let’s Go podcast, Belichick said: “Players win games. You can’t win games without good players. I don’t care who the coach is, it’s impossible.
What rules Brady must stick too
Here is a list of the rules Tom Brady must comply to…
- Not permitted to be in another team’s facility
- Not permitted to witness practice
- Not permitted to attend broadcast production meetings, either in person or virtually
- Prohibited from publicly criticizing game officials and other teams
- Subject to the league’s gambling policy
- Subject to the league’s anti-tampering policies, limiting him to “strictly social communication with members of other clubs”
“You can’t win without good players. You know, I found that out when I had [Lawrence] Taylor and [Carl] Banks and Harry Carson, Pepper Johnson, Jim Burt, Everson Walls, all those guys at the Giants
“And same thing when we got good at Cleveland and then at New England. I mean, it’s [Tom] Brady, it’s [Willie] McGinest, it’s [Mike] Vrabel, it’s [Tedy] Bruschi, it’s Corey Dillon, it’s Randy Moss, Troy Brown, Lawyer Milloy, Ty Law, Rodney Harrison.
“Those are guys that won the games, man. I didn’t make any tackles. I didn’t make any kicks. That was [Adam] Vinatieri that made that kick in four inches of snow.”
He added: “You got to have good players and as a coach, you want to give your players a chance to win.
“You want to put them in a position where if they go out there and play well, they’ll have a chance to win.
“That’s what Coach [Bill] Parcells taught me, is there’s always a way to win. You just got to figure out what it is, and you have to give the players a chance.”
Gray pointed out that the trophy wasn’t named after Bart Starr, the winning quarterback for the Green Bay Packers in those first Super Bowls.
Belichick responded: “Maybe they should name it the Brady Trophy. He won seven of them.”
