MILLIONS of TVs are getting a free upgrade — and it comes with a clever new feature perfect for keeping the kids entertained and even helping with their homework.
Google revealed the rollout today, confirming its smart new AI assistant Gemini is coming to Google TV devices.

The first to get it are TCL QM9K sets, with many more models lined up for later this year.
Gemini is replacing Google Assistant on TVs, but it’s much smarter.
You can still say “Hey Google” or hit the mic button on your remote — but now you can have a proper chat with your telly.
It makes finding something to watch a breeze.
Just ask for a show everyone in the family will enjoy and it will suggest options, saving those never-ending movie-night arguments.
Can’t remember the name of that new hospital drama everyone’s talking about?
Just describe it and Gemini will find it — even offering reviews before you pick.
But it’s not just about telly.
Gemini can help kids with tricky homework by explaining topics in simple terms and even suggest how to build a model volcano for a school project.
Grown-ups can get in on the action too, from learning new skills like guitar to finding quick recipes for a last-minute dinner party.
The free update is available now on TCL QM9K TVs.
It will roll out later this year to the Google TV Streamer, Walmart onn.
4K Pro, 2025 Hisense U7, U8 and UX models, plus TCL QM7K, QM8K and X11K sets.
The best way to save money? FORGET paid streaming
Analysis by Jamie Harris, Senior Technology and Science Reporter at The Sun
FAST channels that bring TV to your screens via the internet are on the rise.
They’ve been around for a while now but many were filled with pretty rubbish programmes.
Now, bigger names have got on board, including Sky and Dave broadcaster UKTV.
Sure, you won’t find the latest big budget shows and movies on them.
But they’re a great alternative to all the paid streamers around and won’t cost you a penny.
