GIMP 3.0 was 7+ years in development before releasing as stable last week for this much anticipated, GTK3-ported image manipulation program update. Thankfully we’re not seeing any lengthy periods of time for new bug-fix releases with today already marking the release of GIMP 3.0.2.
GIMP 3.0.2 is out to address bugs that have come up since the stable release one week ago. GIMP 3.0.2 fixes 13 known bugs over the big 3.0 release. GIMP 3.0.2 brings crash fixes for Apple macOS and Linux Flatpak users, fixes for some packaging changes, some UI glitches resolved, and various other issues taken care of.

GIMP 3.2 meanwhile is beginning to see work for what will be the next minor release of this Adobe Photoshop free software alternative and at that point will be some new features while GIMP 3.0.x will continue on with bug fixes. On the GIMP road-map some possible GIMP 3.2 features include vector layers and link layers support.
