At The Android Show, Google and XREAL jointly unveiled the Project Aura smart glasses, which are powered by XREAL’s self-developed X1S chip and scheduled for commercial release in 2026. Nearly all hardware R&D and manufacturing for Project Aura rely on teams based in China. The X-Prism optical system was independently developed and mass-produced by XREAL’s China team, while the X1S spatial computing chip was designed in-house by XREAL. The company’s supply-chain network is rooted in the Yangtze River Delta, and Shanghai will serve as XREAL’s global R&D hub and future innovation center for AI devices. Additionally, Longcheer and Luxshare Precision are among the partners supporting the project. [China Star Market, in Chinese]
