Google One has exceeded 150 million subscribersa figure that represents a 50% growth compared to the data recorded in February last year. The subscription service, launched in May 2018, continues to expand its user base at a good pace and points to artificial intelligence as a new attraction engine.
According to Reuters, the company “has recently crossed the 150 million subscribers”, highlighting the pull of the AI Premium modality and its “millions” of subscribers, although it is not clarified if the figure includes those who enjoy the free test periods offered by the service.
Google One had announced the 100 million subscribers in February 2024, coinciding with the presentation of AI Premium, the plan that allows access to Gemini Advanced and other AI -based functions. At the moment, the company’s objective is clear: reinforce the strategy of Subscriptions as a monetization route for Gemini and the rest of its artificial intelligence offer, especially for professional users.
Regarding prices and modalities in Spain, Google One part of a “BASIC” subscription of 1.99 euros per month (or 19.99 euros a year) that includes 100 GB of storage for Google Photos, Gmail and Drive. The “Standard” plan rises to 2.99 euros per month (29.99 euros per year) and includes 200 GB and the possibility of sharing storage with up to 5 more users. For 9.99 euros per month (99.99 euros a year), the “Premium” plan gives 2 TB access, a 10% reimbursement in Google Store, advanced functions in Google Photos and Google Workspace, and also allows you to share storage.
The big jump is in the AI Premium subscription (21.99 euros per month, only available with monthly billing), which adds Gemini Advanced, Notebooklm Plus and integration Gemini in Gmail, Docs and the rest of the workspace, in addition to the early access to experimental functions, all with 2 TB of storage. This plan also allows to share storage with up to 5 users.
For those who need even more capacity, Google One offers premium modalities of 5 TB (€ 24.99/month or € 249.99/year), 10 TB (€ 49.99/month), 20 TB (€ 99.99/month) and 30 TB (€ 149.99/month), all with the option to share storage and access to the advantages of the superior plans.
