Let’s explain to you how to create custom feeds in Threads, so that you have publications grouped by authors or specific topics. This is a new function of this social network, something similar to Bluesky feeds, but simpler and more basic.
Here you are not going to create your own algorithm as you can do in Bluesky, you will simply create a group of topics or profiles in your own feed. And when you do, this feed will appear next to that of For you and that of Following. We are going to tell you step by step how to do it.
Create custom feeds in Threads
The first thing you have to do is show your Threads feeds. To do this, on the main screen of the app you have to slide the screen down a little so that they can be seen at the top. You will see that by default you have those of For youwhich is the feed of the algorithm, and the Following with which you are shown only the chronologically ordered publications of people you follow.
Now, you have to hold your finger on the feed bar that you have at the top. A menu will appear with the options to create a new one or edit the ones you have. Click on Create new feed.
You will go to a screen with a search engine, where you have to write what you want to add. You can add user accounts or searches in the feed. You can search, add, and search again to continue adding items.
Once you have all the elements you want added, you can continue to the next screen. In it you will see a summary, with a button where you can continue adding accounts or searches. Up all the way you can give it a name to the feed to identify it. When you have it ready, click on Create list.
And that’s it. Now, when you show the feeds available in Threads, the new one you have created will appear, and you will be able to see all the posts from the accounts or topics you have added.
If you click on the name of a custom feedin the menu that appears you will see the option Delete to delete it. You will also have the option to create a new one or edit feeds, which will take you to a screen where you can see all of them and manage them.
In the web version everything is easierbecause you just have to click on the button above to select the feeds, and you will also see the option to create your own. This will help you not miss posts from people and topics that interest you.
