What happens if you receive a Helix mattress, but then have to return it because it’s not quite the right fit for your needs?
The good news is that it’s surprisingly easy to do so and doesn’t require too much work on your end. We’ll be sharing the steps in our guide to returning a Helix mattress.
Helix’s return policy is fairly straightforward, although it does seem that they will try and get you to exchange your mattress first rather than offering a straight refund. As with all of the best mattress brands, Helix offers a trial period so you can take your time adjusting to your new bed.
Before you peruse the mattress sales in search of the next bed of your dreams, here are the ins and outs of returning a Helix mattress. We recommend reading this guide before making a purchase, if possible, so you avoid any unpleasant surprises.
How to return a Helix mattress
Helix offers a 100-night sleep trial to decide if your mattress is right for you. You do have to sleep on it for a minimum of 30 nights to completely break in your new mattress and adjust to it. (This is standard across most brands.)
If you find that you just aren’t gelling with your new Helix mattress after the first month, you can return it. You can also exchange it for a different model of equal or greater value.
Your first stop will be to submit a request via this form. Here, you’ll enter information about what you need (return, exchange, replacement), explain why you’re making the request, and provide additional details about your issue, along with your order information.
You can even upload photos. In fact, it’s encouraged if you’re making a return request related to your mattress warranty and need to show proof of defects.
After you submit the form, you’ll be contacted by a Helix Sleep Expert who will then talk through your request. The returns process takes five to seven days.
How do you get rid of your old Helix mattress?
After you’ve submitted your request and are either waiting for your refund or your new mattress, you may be wondering what to do with your old Helix mattress. One of Helix’s removal partners will collect it for you, free of charge.
In most cases, Helix will donate your unwanted mattress to a local charity or recycling partner. However, some mattresses may be disposed of outright.
Note that pickup of your old Helx mattress has to be arranged within 45 days of your 100-night sleep trial. Failure to do so will make you ineligible for a refund.
How to return a Helix mattress: FAQs
Is it easy to return a Helix mattress?
The process of returning a Helix mattress is straightforward. As we outlined above, all you have to do is submit your request through the Helix website. A Helix Sleep Expert will then go over your request with you to find the best solution. The more information you provide, the more seamless you can expect the process to be.
Does Helix have a restocking fee?
No. Once you initiate a pickup for your Helix mattress, it’ll be collected by one of the company’s removal partners at no charge. This is fairly common practice among most mattress-in-a-box brands. Luxury sleep brands, such as Saatva, Tempur-Pedic, and Stearns & Foster, usually deduct a processing fee from your refund.
How long does a Helix mattress last?
A Helix mattress will last between seven and ten years, with its premium models projected to last up to 15 years. Helix also offers a lifetime mattress warranty when you purchase directly from them. If something is wrong with your Helix mattress, you can submit a warranty claim.
How to choose the best Helix mattress
Helix offers three main mattress ranges (Core, Luxe, Elite) that are split into three different firmness levels (soft, medium, firm). To get an idea of which Helix mattress would be the right fit for your needs, you can take the Helix Sleep Quiz, which will deliver your perfect match within seconds.
To complete the Helix Sleep Quiz, you’ll need to answer questions about your age, height, and sleeping preferences, as well as details about your partner if you share a bed. Knowing how to choose a mattress can save you from having to make a return in the first place — and never buy based on a discount alone.
