With so many smartwatches on the market, it can be difficult to determine which one is best suited for your needs.
Brands like Huawei especially sport a vast collection of wearables, making it tougher to decide which to go for. Considering we gave the Huawei Fit 4 Pro a 4.5-star rating, while the Fit 3 received a four-star rating, what are the real differences between the two smartwatches?
To help you choose, we’ve compared the two wearables below and given our verdict on which one is best, based on our reviews. Keep reading to see which smartwatch comes out on top.
Alternatively, our list of the best smartwatches have a large variety of options that’s bound to suit your needs.
Price and Availability
As its Pro moniker suggests, the Huawei Fit 4 Pro is the pricier of the two with an RRP of £249.99 and comes with a choice between a woven nylon or synthetic rubber (fluoroelastomer) strap.
The Watch Fit 3 is much cheaper with an RRP of just £139.99. Much like the Watch Fit 4 Pro, it also comes with a choice between a woven or synthetic rubber strap too, with both options available in a variety of colours.
Design
- Fit 4 Pro offers double the maximum brightness of the Watch Fit 3
- Both have a 5 ATM rating
- Both house a rotating crown for navigation
While both the Fit 4 Pro and Fit 3 have a 1.82-inch display, they differ slightly with their respective offerings. The Fit 4 Pro doesn’t just have a sapphire glass front, which keeps it protected from scratches, but it boasts double the brightness of the Watch Fit 3 with up to 3000 nits.
Although the Fit 4 Pro is responsive, offers accurate colours and is an always-on display, it’s worth noting that we found the screen does lack the sheen of Huawei’s LTPO displays. Otherwise we found the Watch 3’s AMOLED screen comparable to the Apple Watch SE 2 and, although its black bezel is visible, it doesn’t distract.
Both the Fit 4 Pro and Fit 2 also have a 5 ATM water resistance rating too.

Health and Wellness
- Both Huawei smartwatches are excellent fitness trackers
- Fit 4 Pro has an ECG sensor while the Fit 3 doesn’t
- The Watch Fit 3 struggled with accurate sleep tracking on
Overall we were impressed with the Fit 4 Pro and said “there’s plenty to like about how [it] goes about its business whether you’re turning to it for fitness, health or sports tracking.” What especially separates the Fit 4 Pro from the Fit 3 is that the former sports a built-in ECG sensor which we found are generally accurate although sometimes unreliable.
Plus, while the Fit 4 Pro uses the latest version of Huawei’s TrueSense sensor, which promises more accurate biometric monitoring, the Fit 3 sports a slightly older TrueSeen 5.5 technology.
Where both watches struggle is their respective sleep tracking. While the Fit 4 Pro delivered scores and duration that were similarly matched with the likes of an Oura Ring 4, reviewing the data in the app was confusing and fiddly. Moving to the Fit 3, sleep tracking was not as sensitive as it should have been, as we found it both failed to register and overestimated certain periods of sleep.

Fitness
- Both perform well at workout trackers
- Fit 4 Pro offers a golf mode with over 15,000 courses and a diving mode too
- Although Fit 3 lacks more accurate GNSS technology, it still offers brilliant tracking
Both the Fit 4 Pro and the Fit 3 are fitted with multiple sports modes which naturally include the usuals such as running, hiking and cycling. The Fit 4 Pro, however, benefits from certain “Pro” sporting modes, including a dedicated golf mode and even the dive-friendly features, which can be found on the pricier Watch Ultimate.
The Fit 4 Pro also allows users to download maps for offline use while both smartwatches include built-in GPS tracking too. Although the Fit 3 doesn’t feature the more advanced GNSS tracking technology, we still found it performed well in running tests even against the likes of Apple Watch Ultra 2 and the Garmin Fenix 7S too.
Overall, we found both the Fit 4 Pro and Fit 3 to be excellent workout trackers and we’d recommend both for accuracy. However, the Fit 4 Pro boasts the edge with a few more tracking features at hand.

Smartwatch Features
- Both run on HarmonyOS and are compatible with Android and iOS
- Huawei has designed both smartwatches to pair best with HarmonyOS powered smartphones
- The app library is limited on both
If you want a wearable that acts mainly as a smartwatch then we’d advise against choosing either the Fit 4 Pro or Fit 3. Sure they both allow you to pair with either an Android or iOS smartphone so you can keep an eye on your notifications while on the move, you’ll miss out on eSIM functionality. Plus, unlike more expensive Huawei watches, you’ll miss out on the full AppGallery app store.
Not only that, but Harmony OS doesn’t support third-party apps or Western banks for Huawei Pay. If you’d prefer a more functional smartwatch for everyday use, then we’d recommend opting for one of the best Apple Watches or best smartwatches.

Battery Life
- Watch Fit 4 Pro offers up to 10 days of battery while the Fit 3 offers around seven
- Watch Fit 4 Pro supports wireless charging
One area where Huawei watches excel is with their battery life, and the Fit 4 Pro and Fit 3 are no exception. The Fit 4 Pro offers up to a whopping 10 days of charge, although that is with GPS and health monitoring switched off, otherwise you can expect around seven days.
While the Fit 3 offers slightly less than its Pro counterpart, it still boasts up to seven days with even heavy use, while with always-on enabled you can expect around four or five days.
Considering we found that even the most expensive Apple Watch Ultra 2 only lasts for up to 60 hours, if you want a wearable that alleviates battery anxiety then a Huawei offering is one for you.
Verdict
If you want a smartwatch for tracking your workouts then either the Fit 4 Pro or even the cheaper Fit 3 are great options. However, considering the Fit 4 Pro boasts a few additional features like an ECG, dedicated golf and diving modes plus a slightly longer battery life, it’s arguably worth spending a bit more to benefit.
