MuyComputerPro attended the presentation this morning of the Huawei Spain Academy held this morning at the Huawei offices in Madrid. In this way we have been able to learn first-hand about this ambitious educational project that seeks to enhance the digital skills of up to 50,000 people of different profiles and training in Spain over the next five years with ambitious projects.
The Huawei Spain Academy, the first institution of this type launched by the company at a European level, will offer more than 3,000 courses and multidisciplinary training programs Taught by more than 300 international experts and 50 local experts in different technological fields. Courses that will be taught both online and in person, also with practical workshops.
The presentation event was attended by prominent personalities from the political, business and technological fields, such as the Chinese ambassador to Spain, Yao Jing, the Minister of Digitalization of the Community of Madrid, Miguel López-Valverde, and the general director of the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), Gerardo Gutiérrez Ardoy.
Miguel López-Valverde highlighted the importance of digital training for citizens: “one of the hallmarks of the regional government is to promote new technologies and innovation, giving priority to the digital training of all citizens, thus preventing anyone from left behind in this matter. “We want a region where everyone can learn and grow alongside the opportunities that technology offers.”
For his part, Gerardo Gutiérrez gave a brief review of the situation of technological talent in Spain and the initiatives underway and described the inauguration of the Huawei Spain Academy as: “a significant milestone in the collaboration carried out by Huawei, Fundae and SEPE , as well as the shared commitment to promoting the development of talent and technological innovation in Spain.
The CEO of Huawei Iberia, Andrés Yin Hui, was “really excited” about the launch of the academy and underlined Huawei’s commitment to promoting digital talent in Spain: “we are really excited about the launch of our Huawei Spain Academy, the great educational project with which our company wants to continue contributing to enhancing talent in Spain in the digital field. In this sense, Huawei’s great asset is its ability to provide a holistic approach, driven by its values and differential knowledge. However, it would not be possible to create the appropriate environment and provide all the necessary resources for the development of this task without the invaluable collaboration of all the organizations and institutions, both public and private, that accompany us in this great initiative and will help convert “Spain and its citizens become leaders in the technological field in Europe.”
During the event, the recent inauguration by Huawei of a Training Center in San Sebastián de los Reyes (Madrid) as part of the Huawei Spain Academy was also noted. This center, with an area of more than 400 m², is dedicated to practical training in cutting-edge technologies.
The Huawei Spain Academy is structured around four pillars: Training Centers, Academic Platform, Huawei Campus and Social Action Programs.
- Training Centers: Physical spaces with cutting-edge technologies for practical learning in areas such as mobile broadband, fiber optics, cybersecurity and digital energy solutions.
- Academic Platform: Free online educational space for university students with courses, webinars, whitepapers and virtual laboratories in areas such as connectivity, Cloud Computing and application development.
- Huawei Campus: Professional development program within Huawei for undergraduate and master’s students, recent graduates and young professionals.
- Social Action Programs: Initiatives such as the “Future of ICT” scholarship program, the Smartbus for the digital training of children and the agreement with the University of León to promote cybersecurity.
With this initiative, Huawei reaffirms its commitment to education, talent development and innovation in Spain, contributing to the formation of a more digitalized society prepared for the challenges of the future.
