Huawei has just announced the new Watch GT 6 series, which includes the premium Watch GT 6 Pro.
While the Watch GT 6 Pro is promised to offer “ultra-long battery life of up to 21 days alongside incredibly accurate GPS tracking”, we’re interested to see how it compares to its predecessor, the four-star Watch GT 5 Pro.
We’ve noted the key new features of the Watch GT 6 Pro below, to help you decide which premium wearable will likely suit you best. Otherwise, make sure you visit our list of the best smartwatches we’ve reviewed in the last year.
Price and Availability
Available now, the Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro has an RRP of £329.99 and is available in three styles: brown, titanium and black.
At the time of writing, last year’s Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro flagship has the same RRP at £329.99. However, as it’s an older model, we’d not only expect the price to drop in the coming weeks but you’re also more likely to find a deal for the wearable.
Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro offers up to 21 days battery
One of the biggest selling points of the Watch GT 6 Pro is with its battery life promise. Firstly, Huawei promises that the entire Watch 6 series benefits from a whopping 65% higher capacity than the Watch 5 series, thanks to an advanced high-silicon stacked battery.
This translates to the Watch GT 6 Pro offering up to a massive 21 days of battery life, while the Watch GT 5 Pro is promised to provide up to 14 days. Of course, the exact amount of battery will depend entirely on your usage, as we actually found the Watch GT 5 Pro ended up providing more like seven days of life.
We’ll have to wait until we review the Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro ourselves to see how well the battery performs in everyday use.
Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro has a larger display
Huawei also claims that the Watch GT 6 Pro has a 5.5% larger display than its predecessor and is the first of its kind to sport a raised timing bezel too, which promises a more immersive and vibrant experience.
Speaking of vibrancy, the Watch GT 6 Pro also supports a peak brightness of 3000 nits, up from just 1200 nits found on the Watch GT 5 Pro, which Huawei claims will ensure “crystal-clear visibility even under direct sunlight”.
Finally, the Watch GT 6 Pro also sports a Sapphire glass display, like the Apple Watch Ultra 3 and a nanocrystal ceramic rear cover, for enhanced durability too.

Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro provides Cycling Virtual Power
The Watch GT 6 series is the first from Huawei to provide Cycling Virtual Power. Huawei explains that this tool provides cyclists with “the most precise and scientifically grounded way to measure their riding intensity”.
The tool, which was rigorously tested by Huawei with thousands of cycling simulations and advanced wind resistance modelling, means the Watch GT 6 series should deliver accuracy calculations of cycling virtual power.
Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro supports upgraded Sunflower Positioning
While both the Watch GT 5 and Watch GT 6 series are fitted with Huawei’s Sunflower Position System, an algorithm that continually tracks the satellite signal during outdoor workouts for accurate positioning, the Watch GT 6 series promises an upgrade. Essentially, Huawei promises the Watch GT 6 series will benefit from more accurate GPS which should enable more reliable performance metrics like pace, distance and more.
The Enhanced Sunflower Position System should work in both urban environments and when exercising in more remote areas too.
Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro has an upgraded Health Insights
Naturally as wearables, both the Watch GT 6 Pro and Watch GT 5 Pro are fitted with a suite of health and fitness tracking tools, all powered by Huawei’s TruSense system. However, the Watch GT 6 series is promised to take your wellbeing support “to the next level”.
The Watch GT 6 series is now fitted with an HRV metric which allows for real-time assessment of training status, alongside precise insights into your physical and emotional state and a personal comprehensive health analysis. This, Huawei explains, integrates multidimensional data including emotions, workout, heart health and more to determine key health trends.
Early Verdict
Considering we hailed the Huawei Watch GT 5 Pro as “the best entry yet to the mid-range series”, the Watch GT 6 Pro has a lot to live up to. However, with enhanced GPS, health insights and up to a whopping three weeks of battery life, the Watch GT 6 Pro looks like a promising upgrade.
We’ll be sure to update this versus once we’ve reviewed the Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro.
