I love, love, love my Brooks Glycerin Max running shoes, but one thing we pointed out in our review of the shoe was the high price tag. So when I clocked the Glycerin Max is on sale right now and has $50 off at Dick’s Sporting Goods, I ran to share the news.
You can also find them discounted directly from Brooks, although far fewer sizes are available there. I’ve already seen some excellent Dick’s Sporting Goods Black Friday deals on fitness gear earlier in the week, so I know it’s a sale worth trusting. The Glycerin Max usually retails for $160, but with this 25% discount, you’re getting one of the most comfortable Brooks running shoes for just $149.
Maybe this deal has caught your eye, but you’re unsure whether to buy the newer Brooks Glycerin Max 2 to get the latest version. If you want to save $50 and still end up with an excellent max-cushioned running shoe, I say it’s worth sticking with the original. It delivers a soft, stable ride that feels great on long, easy miles and recovery runs, and it’s versatile enough for daily training.
My colleague Nick Harris-Fry, who has tested both versions, wasn’t a fan of the extra weight added to the Glycerin Max 2 and still prefers the original for its lighter, more balanced feel underfoot. Sometimes having the latest version doesn’t necessarily mean getting a better shoe.
Either way, I can attest to this being an excellent running shoe and with this deal applied it just got even better.
