A conclusion that meets expectations
When it launched in 2018 on YouTube Red, Cobra Kai was not promised such success. For the creators, it was a question of paying homage to an emblematic license of the 80s, of continuing the adventures of Johnny Lawrence and Daniel Larusso. However, there were many followers and when the company owned by Google chose to stop producing series, Netflix did not hesitate very long before taking over. A lot of good has done him, the first two seasons were highly appreciated by fans of Karate Kid as much as neophytes. The start of season 6, for its first three days of exploitation, can boast of having brought together no less than 14.8 million spectators. Such figures allowed it to take first place in the weekly ranking last July and to remain in first place for two weeks in a row.
Still, as the conclusion approaches, the series should not disappoint. Nostalgic production must bow out with applause, otherwise its hopes for derivative productions will be dashed. Last August, the creators explained that they wanted to continue the journey into the universe Karate Kid a little longer. A spin-off dedicated to Miyagi was among the avenues mentioned. This final season also laid the foundations of a plot that could be exploited, offering the writers the possibility of telling the past of Daniel LaRusso’s mentor.
