We review a lot of expensive phones at Trusted Reviews, many of which cost upwards of £1000. I completely understand that for a lot of people, buying something like that is just out of the question.
Maybe you’re looking for a secondary device to take to festivals, a first phone for a child you don’t (completely) trust yet with their tech or simply don’t really care enough to spend a lot on a phone.
Well, in my search for the best Black Friday deals, I have spotted this bargain. The Poco 85 is now available for £59.99, down 39% from a previous price of £99.
Now, I am not going to sit and write how this is an ‘iPhone beater’ or any of that nonsense, but for the price, I am sure this phone will appeal to a lot of people. And that’s really what Black Friday is for, isn’t it?
We haven’t reviewed this device, but glancing down the spec sheet makes for rather interesting reading. There’s a lot of stuff here that I wouldn’t typically expect to see on a phone that costs the same as a Friday night takeaway and a few drinks.
For one, the screen is big. It’s a 6.99-inch panel with a fast 120Hz refresh rate. That should mean Netflix shows look decent, and there’s only a small camera cutout at the top to get in the way.
On the back, there’s a 50MP camera, which apparently uses AI in some form, and there’s 33W charging too. Inside, you’ve got a MediaTek Helio G81-Ultra Octa-core chipset and a big 6000mAh battery. 6GB RAM comes as standard, as does 128GB of onboard storage.
So, if you’re after a very cheap phone, this is one of the most affordable models that have stood out to me across the Black Friday weekend.
