Van Geest cucumbers is a true family business. The father of current owner Arthur van Geest started in Den Hoorn and because of the space the company moved to Tinte. Arthur took over the helm from his father in 2000. Cucumbers are now grown on nine hectares, divided over two locations. Van Geest strives for the highest quality and most sustainable cucumber possible. From the first moment that Work-IT Online was there, Van Geest cucumbers has been using this system.
Better steering in the present through the past
Peter: “Because we have all the data from the previous growing season in Work-IT Online, we can make a good prediction about what to expect. The registrations that the employees make are essential to us and with Work-IT Online these registrations are presented clearly and visually. This way I can monitor the hours worked, but also view the performance of the employees.”
“The registrations are very important. It is therefore nice that the registration is quick and easy. The employee clocks himself in at the start of the working day. Then, after harvesting, the employee scans the path and cart via the Scan-IT application. This way I know exactly which employee has harvested which path. The weighbridge then weighs the carts, this is automatically linked to the employee and the path. This gives me insight per employee, path, cart and performance.”
“With Work-IT Online we have clarity between the two locations. In our case, the locations are virtually identical, so we can make a good comparison and make adjustments if necessary. The registrations we make give us insight into the hours worked, kilos harvested and costs incurred. This allows us to make adjustments for efficiency.
