Earlier this year, Bloomberg reported that Apple was working on a redesigned Apple Vision Pro strap as part of a wider set of upgrades to the first-generation headset. Now, a few extra details about the revamped strap appear to have leaked.
Likely a mix between the two current bands
As spotted by MacRumors, code references discovered in Apple’s back end point to a new “Dual Knit Band” which, if the name is anything to go by, could be a combination of Apple Vision Pro’s two current straps: the Dual Loop, which is a more simple option that adds a top strap for extra support, and the Solo Knit, which Apple highlights most often in its marketing material.
From the report:
“A text description of the Dual Knit Band suggests that there will be an upper band that spans the top of the head and another band that fits behind the head.”
The leak was corroborated by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who originally reported on the new band in July:
Beyond the code and description, the actual design of the ‘Dual Knit Band’ remains a mystery. Still, the name suggests the upper strap could adopt the same ribbed knit material used in the Solo Knit, offering more comfort for users who find the Vision Pro’s weight uncomfortable during extended use, even with the current Dual Loop.
