The x86 platform driver updates have been merged for the in-development Linux 6.17 kernel. The x86 platform drivers area traditionally has been around Linux laptop hardware support but in recent years more work on handheld devices too plus Intel/AMD server platform functionality.
With the x86 platform driver changes for Linux 6.17 there is the new Intel discovery driver plus the much talked about Lenovo Legion WMI gaming drivers for enhancing that handheld platform. The highlights this merge window include:
– The Lenovo WMI Gaming Series Drivers were merged for enhancing the Lenovo Legion Go series Linux support.
– The Alienware driver has added improved labels for its fan reporting.
– The Lenovo Yoga 6 13ALCL6 is added to a quirk list for the AMD PMC driver for proper handling.
– The Intel VSEC/PMT Discovery Driver was merged for enhanced Intel telemetry support.
– The Intel PMT driver also now supports Battlemage GPU crash log reporting.
– Support for the OneXPlayer X1 Mini Pro powered by AMD Ryzen AI 300 series “Strix Point”.
