Dolby and LG have announced a hardware partnership to deliver ‘a new era of home theatre audio’ with a range of modular speakers that can be configured in dozens of ways, regardless of where they’re placed in your living space.
The new LG Sound Suite consists of the H7 Soundbar, wireless surround sound speakers named M7 and M5, and a W7 subwoofer. Depending on your set up, Dolby says the speakers can be configured in 27 different ways. You can go with a pair of stereo speakers all the way to a 13.1.7 channel full home theatre system. The set up can include H7 soundbar, up to four M7/M5 surround speakers, plus the subwoofer.
For the first time with LG tech, the speakers will play nice with Dolby Atmos FlexConnect, which works to create a coherent home theatre surround sound system wherever users plonk the speakers in the room.
“Dolby Atmos FlexConnect fits your audio system seamlessly into everyday life. Speakers can go where you choose to fit your furniture and room, and the system will automatically unlock the best audio performance,” Dolby explains. So you can place them where your plugs are and around your furniture and let the software and proximity sensors to the rest. And, if you’re using the soundbar as the primary device, FlexConnect will work with any television set too.
LG and Dolby are planning to to debut the LG Sound Suite powered by Dolby Atmos FlexConnect at the CES 2026 expo in the first week in January. We’re likely to get a full explanation during LG’s CES press conference on January 6. Price and availability to be determined also.
