If you are looking for a monitor to play your PC games in good conditions, you will very quickly come across LG devices. The South Korean manufacturer is one of the market leaders, which also shines in televisions with its projects, each one more innovative than the last.
Its transparent wireless OLED T television is great proof of this. LG also plans to satisfy the most demanding PC gamers in 2025. It has just presented a foldable 5K2K OLED monitor included in its UltraGear GX9 45-inch monitor lineup.
LG unveils a range of monitors including the first foldable 5K2K OLED screen
The new LG UltraGear GX9 monitor range will be unveiled at CES 2025 next January. It includes the 45-inch 21:9 displays 45GX990A and 45GX950A with ultra-high 5K2K resolution (5120 X 2160), a first for OLED monitors. They have the technology to customize aspect ratios and image sizes with just one touch.
The 45GX990A is simply the first 5K2K OLED display capable of being curved. “The 45-inch monitor can smoothly transition from a completely flat position to a 900R curvature in seconds, giving users incredible flexibility and more control over their gaming experience. With a lightning-fast response time of 0.03 ms (GtG), the 45GX990A guarantees smooth gaming and better immersion », Indicates LG in its press release.
We will have to wait until CES 2025 to find out how the monitor can go from a flat position to such a curvature. Note that it supports NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technologies well ensuring a smooth gaming experience on PC. On the connectivity side, the foldable screen is equipped with DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1 and USB-C with a 90 W power supply just like the 45GX950A model.
Finally, LG unveils the UltraGear 39GX90SA designed not only for gaming, but also for streaming. It is powered by webOS and provides access to all their streaming services without PC or decoder. “Its 39-inch curved (800R) OLED display with 21:9 aspect ratio produces brilliant, nuanced colors and deep, dark blacks, making it perfect for AAA games and HDR movies and series », Adds the South Korean manufacturer. Meet at CES 2025 organized in Las Vegas from January 7 to 10 to take a closer look at LG’s new monitors and why not, their release date.
