Credit card companies frequently offer sign-up bonuses and exclusive perks to attract customers.
Airline miles, hotel or timeshare credits, rental car discounts, and cash back on purchases are just a few of the common incentives that credit card issuers offer.
Chase currently stands as the largest US credit card company with a purchase volume of $1.25 trillion.
One of the popular incentives that Chase offers is complimentary DashPass memberships to select cardholders, including those with Chase Sapphire, Freedom, and Slate cards.
Chase customers eligible for the free membership have access to exclusive deals and benefits as well as unlimited $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees on eligible DoorDash orders.
Chase and DoorDash first partnered in January 2020 to offer complimentary DashPass memberships to select Chase cardholders, but have since expanded to include grocery and convenience benefits in August 2024.
Thanks to the partnership expansion, Chase cardholders can enjoy a new, lesser-known perk.
A TikTok page dedicated to all things points and miles (@pointsdadtravels) shared a video earlier this month detailing the additional benefit.
“Most people know that you get a free DashPass membership with the Chase Sapphire Preferred and Reserve cards,” began the content creator. “But a lesser-known perk is that you also get a monthly grocery or convenience store promo.”
He explained that customers with a Chase Sapphire Preferred card receive a $10 credit each month, and those with a Chase Sapphire Reserve card get $20 monthly.
Reserve members receive two $10 promos per month, meaning they must make two separate transactions to receive the full $20 benefit.
The promo is active each calendar month at checkout on one grocery, convenience, or other non-restaurant order on DoorDash, according to the food delivery company’s website.
As of February 1, customers can enjoy another complimentary perk under the partnership between Chase and DoorDash.
Chase Sapphire Reserve and JP Morgan Reserve cardmembers can now receive a $5 monthly credit for eligible restaurant orders on DoorDash when using their eligible Chase card at checkout.
EASY MONEY
The TikToker, a Chase Sapphire Preferred customer, shared that he used his $10 credit to pick up snacks after work.
He went to his local 7-Eleven and got an AriZona iced tea and three bags of chips nearly for free.
In a second video, the content creator explained how Chase customers can add the promotion to their account.
He said the first step was to add your eligible Chase Sapphire card as a payment method on DoorDash.
Then, customers must simply visit the main DoorDash page, where the promotion should pop up.
The TikToker noted that the free money could be used at grocery stores such as Safeway, but they typically only offered delivery, which adds a fee.
Chase and DoorDash Perk
Here are a few things to note regarding the monthly grocery and convenience benefit:
- These promotions are not automatically applied to orders. You must apply the $10 promo at checkout.
- If the full $10 is not redeemed on a single order, the remaining value will be forfeited.
- Promo is non-refundable and non-transferable.
- You must use your eligible Chase credit card to receive the promotions.
- If you unenroll or cancel your DashPass membership, you will no longer be eligible for this promo.
- Promo funds do not roll over past the end of the monthly or quarterly period for which the funds have been issued.
- Non-restaurant promos can be stacked with other order card promotions on DoorDash.

For that reason, he advised looking for convenience stores such as 7-Eleven that had a free pickup option.
Once the content creator added his snacks to his DoorDash cart, he toggled the “Chase Monthly Benefit” deal on.
His total, $11.11 before the promo was applied, was reduced to just $1.11.
