CES 2025 was an opportunity for Ultrahuman to pull out all the stops with Rare, a collection of smart rings made from precious materials. On the program: two models in 18-carat gold – “Dune” and “Desert Rose” – and one in 950 platinum, called “Desert Snow”. These rings, far from being ordinary gadgets, are intended to be as elegant as… expensive. Prices vary between 1,500 and 1,800 pounds sterling (1,800 to 2,170 euros). An amount that places them well above the $349 of their flagship model, the Ring Air.

According to Mohit Kumar, the boss of Ultrahuman, this new range appeals to consumers who are looking for both advanced features and sophisticated design. “ Imagine the world’s best jewelry designers expressing their art through technology. We are part of this vision », he adds.
The collection’s three designs are inspired by desert landscapes, with evocative names and a brushed finish that gives a subtle texture to the rings. No diamonds or precious stones for the moment, but Ultrahuman does not hide its ambition to expand the offering in the future.
Behind their luxurious appearance, Rare rings feature the same equipment as the Ring Air: motion sensors, photoplethysmography and advanced biometric tracking. They measure, among other things, heart rate, heart rate variability, stress, skin temperature and sleep quality. So much information that can be consulted without an additional subscription, unlike competing products like Oura rings.
As an added bonus, Rare buyers receive lifetime access to the UltrahumanX program, which includes additional features like atrial fibrillation detection and future software expansions.
However, the question remains: will a large audience be ready to spend 2,000 euros for a connected ring, even a luxurious one? If the success of high-end editions of the Apple Watch is any indicator, Ultrahuman seems optimistic. “ We see great potential for luxury connected rings, at the crossroads of health and refinement “, says Mohit Kumar.
The Rare collection will be available from the first quarter of 2025, but only in carefully selected stores. The first stores to stock these rings are Selfridges in London and Printemps in Paris. Ultrahuman plans a gradual expansion to other major cities like New York, Milan and Mumbai.
