The Energy and Sustainable Mobility Company Moeve and the University of Alcalá have launched a chair on IoT and the one known as industry X (Robotic systems, additive manufacturing or hyperconnectivity) to give a boost to R&D in the field of digitalization in the energy sector.
This initiative is based on knowledge and innovation around new technologies, and promotes the specialization of talent in the use of advanced digital tools, aspects considered as key to the acceleration of energy transition.
With this chair the focus is put in areas such as autonomous robotics, additive manufacturing and the IA embedded on devices. Through this collaboration, Moeve and the University of Alcalá will advance around two main axes of action: innovation and training projects, especially through grade and master courses. In them they will deal with real use cases, which will contribute the energy company.
Likewise, the Chair will encourage the attraction of talent for Moeve, which will do through scholarship programs and practices, and the Directorate of End of Degree and Master’s work that have application in Moeve.
Within the framework of innovation projects, the Chair will monitor emerging technological trends, in addition to establishing lines of research on them. It will also encourage strategic alliances, and participation in contest calls in the appropriate areas, in addition to identifying third -party projects that Moeve can join as a partner. In this way, the company will strengthen its role in key initiatives for digitalization and energy transition.
At present, Moeve collaborates with different universities to give a boost to the integration of digital technologies in the energy transition. The company has a digitalization plan, which aims to accelerate the energy transition and be a growth engine for business through the use of data and technologies such as AI, IoT and blockchain, among others.
On the other hand, the alliance with the University of Alcalá narrows the Vínvulo de Moeve with Alcalá de Henares, where it has its innovation center. In it, the company develops key innovation projects for the progress of its strategy to advance in energy transition.

By the University of Alcalá, its rector, José Vicente Sazstressed that the university «It was one of the first to create environmental science studies in Spain. Then we were pioneers and we had been betting on sustainability, energy transition and digitalization on their campus for more than 30 years. This alliance between two entities with long experience in new energies and sustainability can leave us more than good results«.
