I test dozens of phones a year and, I’ll be honest: I get quite bored with the current interface of most of them. Everything is the same: iOS, HyperOS, ColorOS… only Android Stock -and some very pampered layers, like Nothing-, manage to awaken my interest.
For some time now, it has been possible to change the launcher on Android while maintaining the gesture system, so I started searching the Play Store for free alternatives to give the phone a radical change.
The alternative I have chosen is Launcher 10, an application that has been in the Play Store for a few years now and has already accumulated more than a million downloads with a 4-star rating. It is completely free and has almost no advertising.
In my case, I have installed it on a Google Pixel 9 Pro, and the performance is quite good, without crashes, lag, or strange things. It is important to clarify this, since the few reviews I have read about the launcher have to do with performance.
As its name suggests, Launcher 10 is an application that tries to emulate the classic Windows tile look. It is a completely different interface than what we are used to on Android and, in particular, I love it.
The app is very, very customizable. It allows us to adjust the tiles wherever we want and with the size we want, the number of columns, customize the themes and even icons… It is a very easy app to use for any user who is not very skilled in customization issues, and it is surprising for its how well it integrates into the system.
If we want to add the cherry on top, we can download applications like Zedge, which allow us to download Windows 10 ringtones and notification tones. Along with a good wallpaper, we will have the closest possible experience to the Microsoft operating system.
