There’s only one soundbar that I recommend to most people and as luck would have it, the device is now massively discounted on Amazon.
Take it from me, unless you’re the type of person who’s obsessed with the fidelity of various audio layers and the details hidden within, you don’t need to spend a fortune to get a great sounding home entertainment experience. Last year I picked up the Sonos Ray at a discount and it’s honestly one of the best products I’ve ever bought.
If you fancy elevating your next movie night or binge-watching session then you need to pick up the Sonos Ray whilst it’s down to just £199 on Amazon, making for a sizeable 29% discount over its original £279 price point.

The most impressive (and most important) aspect of the Sonos Ray is that, despite its relatively affordable price and compact stature, this is a soundbar that can still deliver impactful sound that leaves built-in TV speakers in the dust.
In our 4.5-star review for the device, Home Technology Editor David Ludlow wrote: “diving into films, I fired up Captain Marvel. Most noticeable is that the bass is pretty good. With the laser fire and explosions in the opening scene, there’s a definite low-frequency boom and a warmth to the effects, even if it isn’t quite as room-shattering as the [Sonos] Arc’s response.”
I’ve noticed that same weight at the bass-end when playing games too. Just as an example, when playing Resident Evil 4 Remake, I could hear the impact of Leon Kennedy’s boots hitting the muddy ground of rural Spain, in a way that I never could without the soundbar in tow.
Of course, there’s still plenty of detail to be heard at the higher end, and if you ever find yourself struggling with picking up dialogue then the Sonos Ray can be just the remedy to fix that.
You can even connect to the Sonos Ray from your phone and use it as a speaker for music, which is handy if you’re planning a party and need some decent tunes in the background to keep the vibe going.
As a final note, if you have a pair of Sonos Ace headphones then you can have the audio from the Sonos Ray beamed to the Ace wirelessly, which is perfect for keeping the entertainment going without waking anyone else up.
For just £199, the Sonos Ray is a true bargain, and one that I cannot recommend enough.
